Omg, I am so tired from studying for FAR, and I have done reading/doing questions twice by now using Becker 2011. Yet, I still feel like I didnt remember/understand everything…..

For the simulation part, did anyone ever have Governmental/N-F-P Org questions on it at all?

The part I hate the most is Pensions, is that topic heavily tested in MCQ or Sim?

    Thx

Without breaking any disclosure rules, let me tell you that ANYTHING is possible with FAR. The topics that were supposed to be lightly tested, I ended up getting A LOT of questions on. The ones I thought were heavily tested, I got very little questions on. These exams are a luck of the draw. It's painful, but you have to know it all. I'm sorry.

Yes, I know the feeling. Yesterday, I felt like I was going to get a heart attack because I stressed myself out too much just trying to drill some concepts into my head while I was studying for REG. Now, my concern is not whether I'll pass or fail. My concern now is whether I'll live past my 20s because yeah, it's amazingly stressful studying for these tests.

Of course anything is fair game on these exams. Why shouldnt they make you know 9 chapters inside and out and expect you to retain all of it?

    REG - 88
    FAR - 89

@pshustler- They don't expect you to retain all of it. There's a lot of leeway given when grading the FAR exam. I can tell you right now that there were about 7 questions in my second testlet of FAR that I had no idea what they were asking and just guessed it. There were some questions in the third testlet that confused the heck out of me as well. There were also a couple of Sims that I was a bit lost on. Yet, I ended up with a grade of 89 and I bet I made a lot of careless errors. Even some people who have gotten 99 on the exam know that they got some questions wrong. I think FAR is the most leniently graded exam out of the 4 due to the fact that it has the most amount of material. Based on your scores from the other 3 parts, your study method is working. Keep doing what you're doing and I promise you that you'll pass. You're only human and can only retain so much. Just do the best you can!!

CPAMan – u dont know how nice it is reading that. I've been pretty stressed out about FAR with only 4 weeks left and I dont feel comfortable at all. I'm just going to keep plugging away though like Ive done in the past.

I just sat for FAR on Monday and can say that I had the EXACT same testing experience as CPAMan, I can only hope that my exam score is the same as well.

    AUD - 92 [5/31/11]
    FAR - ___ [8/1/11]
    BEC - 85 [8/31/11]
    REG - ___ [10/17/11]

Yes, keep plugging away. They still expect you to have a certain amount of knowledge in order to pass, but they're not expecting perfection. Just put in all the effort you possibly can and it will pay off.

I had a similar test experience as cpaman and also a similar score, so don't get disheartened. You are 4 weeks out – I felt like this 4 days to the exam and only took it as “practice” because it was already paid for!

Don't worry, pshustler. I'm going through a lot of stress like you. Oddly enough, I'm studying for REG now and it's more stressful for me than FAR. These tax rules are difficult to memorize and the concepts are extremely hard to grasp. Like I said, I was so stressed the other day, I felt like I was going to get a heart attack.

CPAMan – REG just finally sunk in with me about the third time I went through it. I would grasp some stuff first time through. Some more stuff second time. And then the hard stuff I finally got third time

I would advise supplementing whatever review you are doing with Wiley Test Bank, as well as reviewing tax info 2 times for every one time you go over business law.

    AUD - 94
    REG - 88
    FAR - 89
