Hi all, is anyone else in florida?
What happens if this hurricane does hit and the testing center is closed?

I've been studying non-stop since July for this exam expecting to finally be done and become a CPA in Q3. The past week I've been staying up until 2-3 AM studying my life away…

Now I have to reschedule and don't even know when the exam will be. This is all after having to wait the extended period to get Q2 scores released.

The uncertainty sucks and what sucks even more is that there is absolutely no appeasement at all from all this.

Oh well, f*** it, I'm going to sleep.

Will NASBA extend the NTS to retake next testing window? My NTS expires Sept 10 (the date I was supposed to take FAR) and my testing center is closed and I'm getting out of South Florida?

Since most of Florida is closed, is it possible to reschedule for another state? Would I receive credit for taking it in Alabama or Georgia?

It would be possible to take it in another state, just pay the fee to reschedule and actually get there. Of course there are virtually no flights out of FLL and MIA (unless you know someone or have a private plane) but if you can drive to another state then definitely go for it.

Jax is cancelled 8-10th. No seats available tomorrow the 7th. I feel like they will have some sort of remedy for all of us.

That is so Bull. Sorry for those affected by this disaster. Hopefully, NAsba can have some remedy? But in all cases stay safe..

You can take your exam at any testing center and still get the credit for it.

NASBA said email candidatecare@nasba.org and that they weren't sure about extending the window since it is already extended.

I've been on the phone for 45 minutes with 3 different Prometric representatives due to dropped calls on their end and idiot half ass representatives and still not done rescheduling.

If your testing center was closed, you don't have to pay any rescheduling fees, but there isn't any additional extension to the Q3 testing window. You just have to reschedule for Q4 or take the test at another location that's still open and available.

What a nightmare it has been to become a CPA. So over it.

I don't know why i'm surprised. My prometric center was closed yesterday in Dania/Hollywood. I have no idea why I that I thought i'd be able to sit tomorrow. Guess I was too optimistic. With this and the delayed Q2 release date, this is beyond upsetting.

I only learned today that the Daytona Beach prometric center will be closed till Monday so I sent an email to NASBA asking to grant permission to take the exam once the testing centers are opened again next week. I tried to reschedule to the Maitland center (looks like it's still open) but there are not spots available. I know it might be a very naive request but it doesn't hurt to ask. I think they might be receiving many requests like that so I hope they can understand this situation and help all those FL candidates impacted by this hurricane.
    Be safe everyone!

Heard back from NASBA, they are not going to extend the testing window. If you are losing credit for your passed section, only the state board has the authority to extend credit.
I consider flying to GA (if the flights are not cancelled) to take the exam on Sunday but not sure if any of their testing centers will be closed as well.
