So far I was making my own notes and solving MCQs ,it has not worked so far.So I have just started rewriting the summarized notes (around 76 pages from Becker’s final review and other’s ).I intend to do it till exam.

Read your notes and see if you understand what you are writing first then rewrite. I know it sounds simple but there were many times I was just going through the motions and not truly grasping the concept.

i rewrote my notes, not from my previous notes, but from the textbook again.
you might have skipped some important stuff in your first notes so i think it's better making new notes.
also, you can probably skip things you already know, so it will save time.

Personally, I didn't rewrite the notes after I failed. I just hit MCQ's harder and took notes from the ones I missed multiple times.

Curious, why is this even a question? There are a million posts about how to study. And each and every person can be different. If someone has gotten through college and doesn't know their own study habits and learning style, that's very odd.

With that said, I can think of several better ways to study than rewriting your notes. For one thing, I don't even take any notes AT ALL and it works for me. But everyone is different I suppose.

I only rewrote my notes for REG thus far and finding it helpful. Studying FAR now and was intrigued by the Question.

76 pages seems like a lot! Do you have Ninja notes??? I would suggest that. Too many notes will burn you out and definitely need time for MCQ.

Any kind of prep helps but i suggest rewrite notes and then Ninja MCQ until the exam.

    Best of Luck!

Thanks you all,I feel I have been doing good for other 3 sections but somehow now able to show my knowledge in FAR.I know much more than what my score shows. Not blaming AICPA but not able to show in my answer ,rush through SIMs and latter I find out ahh that subsequent event ,I selected wrong one.Just after coming out of exam my knowledge level goes up ?Just after exam how I know that was wrong answers. So I thought to question my style for FAR ?
Took note of the suggestions here and I am doing Ninja MCQ hard this time.
@BrickellCPA , I partly agree with you ,I did discover lot of new things in my cpa journey so far.It seems I need to memorize the things now which I don't do,I am a conceptual guy and slowest test taker.

I am an older former Becker student. I was used to highlighting with Becker, and that works for me, especially with AUD, and REG.

But after 2017 Q3 FAR exam, which was 80%+ calculations, went up from 50+% of Q1 2017, I don't why. Of course, AICPA can do pretty much what they need to be done. For me on the other hand, I am getting kicked harder! Serious.

So, I finally give in with the ‘writing' concept with all the ‘calculation problems', but I stayed with the ‘highlighting' for the theory type of questions. I can read faster, and retained longer.

So I would say, I used both. I retained longer when I write down, and take notes with my calculation problems, and highlighting for theory questions and notes.

Also, I noticed writing calculation problems notes, and reading highlighted words, stopped me from falling asleep, and stopped my mind wondering around.

Good luck to you too, @WannaFree.

I re-wrote my notes for all three sections I've taken and passed first try each time. I think re-writing the notes really solidified info I had glossed over the first time through, Jeff's NINJA strategy has helped me and I recommend it even if you use a different review software. Good luck!
