I have done a lot of review with all the McQ and have put off the writing section for now. What is the best way to study for this?

Is it computer graded and looks for certain keywords? I also heard only 2/3 are counted.

I am sort of freaking out over BEC because of how much the McQ are weighed and I really want the 15 points from the writing section…

I left the WC to review last also. I got comparable in my score for my last attempt. I just review how I want to format the WC memos and basically rely on my knowledge for the MCQ's for the material. I may have not written enough last time.

CA CPA - All because of the journey listed below
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
    FAR - 53('10), 8/25/12 79 PASSED!
    REG - 66('11), 69('12), 12/06/12 77 PASSED!!
    BEC - 58('10), 74('12), 01/05/13 77 PASSED!!!
    AUD - 43('11), 66('12), 69('13), 74('13) 7/29/13 85 PASSED!!!!!

Don't stress about the WCs. The best way to study for the WC section is to know your stuff with the MCQs and understand proper business language!!! The format will already be laid out for you. Write on topic, but if you don't know the answer (I didn't know the correct answer for one of my questions), BS it as best you can. Make an accounting “rule” up if you have to. I did. The point is to address the question and present a response as professionally as you can. Write like you're writing to your senator or something.

    BEC: (4/2012) 88
    AUD: (5/2012) 91
    REG: (8/2012) 82
    FAR: (1/2013) 78 🙂

I have a question about the three WCs on the exam:

Because BEC is so diverse in it's nature, you shouldn't really be surprised about getting almost any topic for a WC. But let's say one WC is obviously very highly correlated to your study materials and the other two are out in left-field, relatively speaking: does that mean the one not graded is one of the “non-BEC” WCs? I would assume. But then again you can't really assume anything when it comes to CPA stuff.

    REG - 65, 70, 80!
    BEC - 35, 62, 79!
    AUD - 73, 75!
    FAR - 65, 73, 70, 75! DONE.

i just started studying w/ Becker last night. Tim Gearty said that you arent really graded on content, moreso on the format of the writing. dont use abbreviations or bullet points. sometimes a good chunk of your response will be in the question….

basically they said that if you work their writing examples and follow their tips, you should be in good shape

    FAR - 1/26/2012 - PASSED (78, but Lost credit), re-do 11/27/2013 - PASSED (87)!
    AUD - EPIC FAIL, 71, 69; 68; 5/25/2013 - PASSED (85)!
    REG - 10/1/2012 - 72; 7/1/2013 - 73 UGH, 10/1/2013 - PASSED (85)!
    BEC - 2/28/2013 - PASSED (82)!
    Licensed CPA!

Used Becker self-study materials (just this for FAR original & REG #1), WileyTestBank, NINJA notes/audio, and Roger cram course for AUD #5, REG #3 & FAR reboot. CPA!
