It always breaks my spirit when I can narrow down to two answers and about 70% of the time I guess wrong! I don’t consider myself a bad test taker nor a good test taker. I’m an average test taker, but it’s so fustrating when you get to two answer choices and continue to guess the wrong one. Does anyone have suggestions on how to improve making educated guesses?

I do this as well sometimes but I've learned to just go with my first instinct. More often than not you tell yourself the answer you choose is wrong and you know it. When that happens go with the one you know deep down is correct.

My experience is to go with your gut. Most of the time if I can narrow it down, I'll have a gut reaction as to one of the answers. Almost always that's the right answer. The only way I know this is years of test taking where I went against my gut reaction and I always ended up choosing the wrong one.

If you're really narrowing it down to a 50/50 chance only to get it wrong 70% of the time you should consider common qualities of the choices you successfully eliminated AND also try to analyze qualities of the incorrect answers you keep going with for some reason.
