    Hello Future CPAs

New member here, although I regularly read the posts here.

I was wondering what the best/ most effective method for final review is. I completed the FAR Becker course (first time around) on Monday and have been reviewing ever since. Currently, I’m rereading the material, typing my notes, and then re-doing the MCQs. Although I have been consistently scoring 80-95% on MCQs, I notice that this approach is taking a lot of time. For example, it takes 1 1/2 day (approx. 12 hours) to go through the chapter, type notes, and redo the MCQs. I was thinking about skipping the book and typing notes and instead focusing on MCQs. Anyone have suggestions/ approaches that worked? Thanks.

I’m scheduled to take FAR on July 28.

Seems like you are doing really well…those scores are awesome:)

For my final review for FAR, I did a similar thing as you. I re-read each chapter and worked all the MCQs in the passmaster. I only wrote what I missed or key points or something I got right by accident. Then at night, I read the notecards for that chapter. It took me about 1-1.5 day for each chapter. After each chapter, I also took progress test. After F2, I would do F1-F2 then F1-F3 and so forth.

You have plenty of time if you do a chapter a day…some may take little bit more.

I was scoring in the upper 80s-90s and ended up doing well on actual test. I didn't have enough time for final exams in Becker nor had enough time go over SIMs again.

I would also suggest pay little more attention to Gov't/NFP/Leases/ Bonds…not to say that you can ignore others. Also, use research tab for SIMs.

    Good Luck:!)
