    Hi All

This site, and its members, has been a tremendous inspiration to me as I prepare to be a future CPA. However FAR is one beast that can’t seem to conquer, even though I still have REG to finish as well. (Waiting for scores). Having said that I would like to know from everyone out there as to how to cram and prepare for this thing before the exam. I have less than 2 weeks to go.

Do I have to read the chapters in Yaeger/Becker. I have watched lectures (back in Sept) from both the review courses and have just been practicing MCQ’s. Is Yaeger CRAM or Becker CRAM worth the investment? I hate reading this dry stuff and I dont like memorizing either. I would like to prepare in a way so that it does come naturally during the exam without having to struggle too much in trying to remember the GAAP rule or some formula/etc. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I have failed FAR few times and my last score was close but not quite there yet. Thank you all.

It's up to you, but I think the recommended approach would be to re-read the books. But I guess it depends on how you are fairing on the MCQ also.

Personally I did purchase a review/cram for each section. I was planning a wedding reception during FAR and had it during AUD, and I wanted all the extra help I could get. The deal was if you bought 3 you got 1 free, so I ended up with all 4 and I can't swear they put me over the top (for the first two exams), but I really liked the condensed review because I couldn't seem to get through more than 1 section a day and with FAR that's pushing on 2 weeks to finish the entire review where the cram fit it all in during just 3 days.

How good do you feel about your weaker points from past exams? At the least I'd probably re-read those sections to make sure I had a handle on the topics.

You might also want to look into a new question bank since if you've been doing MCQ since September there's a chance you have some memorized. I know there was a discount to ones from Jeff earlier this quarter- I haven't looked for them on this website for a while though.

    Good luck.

    FAR - 87
    AUD - 88
    BEC - 88
    REG - waiting
