I usually dominate about 100 MCQs per day, and maybe close to 200 on the last 2 weeks before the test… how many do you guys do?

I do ten hard (problem) questions per day Ten hard questions are better than 100 easy ones. Most are easy, it's the hard ones that count. Remember 48% pass which means a portion are give-me's. Tackle the hard stuff, thats where the pain/gain is. I believe if I can pass BEC, the rest is attainable because it relates to real accounting. BEC is not real. I Hate this part beyond comprehension.

    Reg 11/15/2011 - 80
    Aud 02/28/2012 - 81
    Bec 05/31/2012 - 78
Far 08/31/2012 - 83 Do you believe in Miracles, YES !!!

Around 30-50, depending on how long it takes to answer them. I usually take my time with them.

Oh, I hate BEC too! And not because of the calculations.

The most I can do is 150. It includes taking notes and is full-time study.

But with REG it's a 100. Writing down all taxation BS takes a lot of time.

I don't see how anyone could do more than 30 MCQs after an exhausting day at work. Your mind goes blank after 10 pm and you keep reading the same sentence 5 times in a row.

I was wondering the same thing last night….

I am re-studying for FAR 3-4 hours per week day….I am trying to work on one progress test (Becker) per day which is about 100 MCQ's…depending on the questions I might or might not finish in one day.

@Give me sleep-what you mean by “hard questions”, TBS?

I do the AICPA Adapted Problems from my ACG books. :)..I usually have no clue how to start, so hopefully they'll help on party day.

I did between 50-100 a day and there are many reasons not the least of which is mastering time management during the exam. It is important to grasp as many concepts as possible and as has been said here before a major component of being able to pass the exams is to utilize short term memory. The more MCQ's I did the better my score. In fact I did the most MCQs when I took AUD the 3rd time.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Starting 2 weeks before my test date I did 100 questions a day for REG, when going through the chapters I would do about 20 in addition to reading, taking notes and rewriting the notes.

    REG- 81
    BEC- 72,76
    AUD- 67,88
    FAR- 78

    Done!

Jeez, how do you guys all manage so many questions. I might get through 40-50 in three hours. Maybe its just the lengthy FAR material, and I take notes on all questions I got wrong. Wish I had your guys' pace. Do you just guess at an answer if you go over a min and a half?

Throughout the normal course of studying, it could average anywhere from a dozen to a few dozen. The last few weeks I try to kick it up a notch so I can get a fresh review of all the major concepts, which could mean a few hundred per day.

The caveat is quality over quantity. I failed aud the first time and I directly attribute it to not doing a final review, and just going through the motions of knocking out as many mcqs as possible without really grasping the subject matter.

Doing crazy amounts of mcqs is fine as long as you don't burn yourself out and you don't lose sight over why what's right is right and what's wrong is wrong. More importantly, do that final review and make sure everything is fresh in your head.

    BEC: Passed
    AUD: Passed
    REG: Passed
    FAR: Passed

    @Hustlin,

This is my second time taling FAR, and I have one week left, that is why……….If you are just starting to study the material for the first time and you are not close to the exam date 100 is not the number, I will say 20-50 a day.

I average about 100 normally. I agree with SacredTheory, quality over quantity. I try to take the time to understand what is wrong and what is right ..and what is “what the hell, I knew that answer!!”

I go for broke in my final review week!!!
