First thanks to anyone who comments in my post.

I am using WileyCPAexcel and I take FAR April 23rd and I am wondering how many MC questions should I be completing a day? I work a full time job and I am doing about 90/day at the moment.

90 is pretty good. I took FAR 4/2 and I was doing like 60/day during the week and on the weekend and days i took off to study I was doing like 200/day and would do sims here and there, focusing exclusively on SIM tasks as described in the blue print analysis sections.

I never really got over 100-120 a day.
FAR was about 100/day max because the calculation intensive questions take longer.

I took the advice of the people who passed the exams that I am trying to pass. They mentioned quality over quantity. I am using Wiley and I made the mistake while studying for FAR of not doing more MCQs in my weak areas. Wiley does show where you missed the most items. Since you are taking FAR, do more SIMS as well. And don't forget about governmental/NFP. 🙂

I am studying for AUD right now and I am focusing on my weak areas. I will select those areas and just practice and take notes until I improve. I also refer to my book.

For FAR, I averaged around 90-100/day as well. On the weekends, I added 30-40 SIMS.

    Hi @Nikki374,

What program do you use? Do the SIMs that you practice with give feedback with answers/ explanation? or the SIMs results are just grades/scores. The SIMs on Ninja MCQs, they do not provide any answers… so I never know which part I answered correctly and which one was wrong?

    Thank you for your attention.

Gleim SIMs give both feedback and explanations. They explain all correct options as well as the incorrect options.

That really depends on how you learn. If you can learn from doing lots of MCQs, then go for it. On the other hand, if you need to do sets of MCQs at a small increment in order to retain the information, then do that.

I always give out the same suggestion whenever there is a post like this – EVERYONE will tell you differently. Personally, once I go through all the lecture videos and reading the book, I start hammering these MCQs, and that's how I learn the best. If I need to refer back to the textbook or lecture videos for more clarification, then I just do that.

I did about 100 MCQs a day starting a week before my FAR exam. I also did SIMs based on the FAR blueprint, at least 2 a day. By the 5th day, I turned into Neo and could only see ones and zeros when I looked at my laptop screen. I'm NOT going to know if that worked until June 27th. 🙁

@Big4BeanCounter: Good points. I was trying to do 30 at a time and was driving myself nuts because I was getting so many wrong. I am now doing 10 or 15 at a time to get relaxed.

    It begins with a 75

I agree with Big4BeanCounter. I tried to do FAR in sets of 40 and I was very frustrated with getting so many wrong.

With AUD, I do only sets of 10 MCQs and I take notes on index cards instead of a regular notebook. I still took notes while watching the lectures, but rewriting them on regular paper didn’t help me to retain the information like the index cards. Trial and error have helped me to learn what best works for me. Good luck!

@Erlin168, I use Surgent as my study material. As you do SIMS, it gives you a score and tells you which ones you got wrong along with an explanation for the correct answers.

I also agree with Bigbeancounter. What works for one, may not work for another. For me, I go slow on the MCQs at first until I really understand the material. And then I start cranking them out until I can't stand it.

    Hi @Erlin168
“What program do you use? Do the SIMs that you practice with give feedback with answers/ explanation? or the SIMs results are just grades/scores. The SIMs on Ninja MCQs, they do not provide any answers… so I never know which part I answered correctly and which one was wrong?”

Ninja will give you feedback on the SIMs if you go to the Reports tab to Session report. Hover over the Sim number and it should underline to let you click on it. Once you click on it you will see what you answered correctly as well as incorrectly. You can also print it for further study, by right clicking and clicking print.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello @CPATooleTime,

Thank you so much for the info. I never know this. I really tried few times (in different ways) to see correct answers, and I could not.

I really appreciate your help. Thank you. I owe you! 😉

    Hello @Nikki374,

Thank you for your explanation. I might need to switch to Surgent. 😊

How do you guys do so much MCQs a day? that's insane!
on a weekdays I do maybe 40-60 MCQ. On the weekend I do about 100 MCQ max. That's more than enough to cover all the materials on a intermittent basis.

    Study Material:
    GLEIM
    BEC - FEB/2012
    AUD - FEB/2012
    FAR - JULY/2012
    REG - JULY/2012
