How many hours did you study for REG? I am scheduled to take it on August 30th and just started studying today. I have nothing to do but study till then so I have 200+ hours at my disposal.

I took FAR on July 3rd and found out I passed a few days ago and took BEC on August 1st.

You should be fine if you study full time.

I studied for about two months the first time and about 6 weeks the second time. But I only studied about 15 hours a week.

    FAR - 85 November 2011
    AUD - 81 January 2012
    REG - 68 March 2012
    BEC - 86 April 2012
    REG - 92 July 2012

The first time I took it I studied maybe 40-50 hours, and didn't study partnership, corp, or estate tax at all. My husband and I were buying a house, I was finishing my last semester of school and working, and I didn't have time to deal with it.

The time I passed it, I studied about 125 hours. And when I say 125 hours, I mean solid focused hours, not hours that involved checking facebook 20 times. I spent 20 hours a week for 4 weeks going through Becker once (two sections a week) and then about 15 hours a week for the next three weeks of review. Going into it I felt very prepared. I only supplemented with NINJA notes for b-law, otherwise just used Becker. I want to be a tax accountant though, have worked at a VITA tax clinic, and do my friends taxes for fun, so I had a pretty decent handle on individual tax going in.

    REG- 53, 91
    BEC- 88
    FAR- 62, 85
    AUD- 85

    Ethics- 93

I think that should be plenty of time. I'm taking REG tomorrow and using Becker. I've studied on and off all of the material for the last two months prob a chapter a week. I started really cranking it up the last two weeks spending close to 10 hours a day reviewing the lectures, MCQ's, SIMS doing the final review, and final exams. This hasn't steered me wrong on my other exams yet so hopefully it works again! Good luck!

    FAR - 79 (2/25/12)
    AUD - 83 (4/19/12)
    BEC - 80 (5/25/12)
    REG - 82 (8/9/12)

    DONE!! 🙂

I have worked the MCQs for almost 72 hours and the book probably for 150…:O…sad, but true…

225 solid hours – some say it's too much, I say I don't want to leave room for error
