    you have to realize that CBA is a government department. In case you need me to translate, that means – incompetent, inefficient, and very slow.

    State furloughs have caused the office to close the first 3 fridays of the month. I'm not joking – they have ZERO incentive to work quickly in processing the applications. I personally would call them everyday and explain your situation, and be NICE. Make it seem as if they will be doing you a HUGE favor and that you are very appreciative of them doing it. I know that they are “busy” with an overload of applications due to people trying to sit before 2011. Don't let your application get lost in the shuffle…you really need to stay on top of these things.

    Believe me, I know, as I work for the State of California.

    @financeguy,

    I know, I called on Monday and a lady told me it takes 2 weeks.

    I called today and this other lady says it takes 30 days. I told her I'd like to sit asap in July and basically she sounded like a prerecorded message: “We process applications in the order they are received”….. Even new transcript on already pending files? “Yes, sir, they go at the bottom of the pile”.

    One other time I spoke to this guy, he was clearly upset and told me that now they work only 4 days a week and they're so overloaded and blah blah blah.

    I don't understand….. why don't they raise the fees then?

    US Immigration raised their fees by 50% last year, but I didn't mind paying a little more and having my file processed in a timely manner.

    FAR - 7/26/10 - 95
    AUD - 8/10/10 - 88
    BEC - 8/31/10 - 88
    REG - 10/15/10 - 95

    hahaha man you think raising fees is going to get govt workers to work any faster?

    Well the good thing is that as long as you chose to be contacted by email, as soon as your app is processed you should be able to have a spot at prometric within 2 days.

    One thing you may want to do is call them and tell them that you are concerned about something that is on your app. For instance tell them that you are concerned that you may have forgotten to sign it and you want to know ASAP just in case you have to send a new one in. Ask them if they could please find the actual app and see if you had signed it. This will allow them to actually go get it, and then you might be able to convince them of how quickly you want to sit for the exam.

    Not saying it will work for sure, but it is possible if you get the right person that it could speed things up.
