Fellow comrades in the fight against FAR , whats you’re preferred or recommended method of note taking while studying for FAR?

I’ve been catching myself doing to much formatting when taking notes on the computer (outlines in word and diagrams in excel), as perfectionism takes over. While my handwritten notes tend to be too cluttered to comfortably review. Both ways taking approx 5 miins per textbook page.

Throughout school, I always preferred initially highlighting and writing directly on the materials, followed by a total reviewing in a second color and creating note cards for problem areas. HOWEVER, with the amount of material in FAR, and my limited schedule, a second visit to each chapter may be ineffective, as it would probably cut into time for practice.

Please share your methods, and preferences.

I find that I learn by writing. I found myself previously in the same boat as you when I typed my notes. I was more concerned about formatting & appearance rather than content.

I will go through my book and write up my notes by hand because as I write them out, it sinks in my head a little more and helps me to comprehend it better. But, thats just me. 🙂
