I’m studying for FAR (taking it in less than two weeks) and just can’t remember everything. I understand it all but trying to recall the FIFO retail method or foreign currency translation just doesn’t seem to be happening. I feel like i’m screwed even though i’ve done all the multiple-choice questions twice, gone through the book twice and that there will be no way i’m going to pass this exam. Set me straight guys, am I overestimating the difficulty of this exam? How screwed am I?

    FAR 93
    AUD 89
    REG 81
    BEC 87
    Ethics 100

I feel if you know the fundamentals and understand the concept then you can do it. Don't stress about one thing you don;t remember. You would be surprised how many “highly tested topics” you will not see on the exam.

    Reg - 2/24/12 passed
    BEC - 4/3/12 passed
    FAR - round 2 7/1/12 passed
    AUD - round 2 11/01/12

    Using Becker, wiley, and NINJA.

You're not going to know everything… Just do your best to learn everything and remember that all you are working for is the 75.

I know how you're feeling.. I felt the same way on the last few days as I was studying. I was out of time so this is how I approached the exam… I knew there were sections there was no way I would understand fully so I sort of brushed over those and concentrated on the things I knew well and want to make sure I still knew it coming into the exam. I knew there would be a lot of gov/non-profit so obviously my last few days of studying were dedicated to those kinds of sections where I knew there was going to be a good chance I'd see it on the exam. Anything that was only lightly tested, I passed over.

Sitting at my exam I was like ohh f*ck I'm screwed! I think 99% of the people that take FAR come out thinking that, but what you think is not how your scores may come out. Luckily I got a 75 and was done!

It's common to feel like this. It's good that you understand the material, and if you've gone through everything twice already that's really pretty great. Doing mcqs helps you see the concepts in application, so I think you should continue doing mcqs.

But don't let the pressure get to you! FAR is definitely hard but it is passable!

I feel the same way as you, nfs480. I just finished complete first pass through Yeager and am somewhat bereft and overwhelmed as what to do next. I began with getting 2012 Ninja notes out and reviewing my written notes with Ninja next to them, rewriting material. Did Gleim mcq for basic concepts and got most of it right, did 2012 Wiley test bank and bombed basic – installment, gross profit method, cash to accrual. It will be a long relearning curve for the next three weeks…
