How close is a 69 on FAR?

Hello. I am very new to the CPA as I finished college 20 years ago and am just now trying to pass this grueling exam! I received a 69 on FAR and while I know that the exam is not scored on a true 0-100 scale, I’m wondering how far off I am from passing. I see from the posts that poeple receive a 74 numerous times so I’m wondering how bad a 69 really is. It seems close but I don’t know what to think. Do I have a shot at passing and how much more is needed? I reviewed for 300+ hours already! Thanks!

You are 75 points away. You are likely to forget some of the things that you studied the next time you take the exam. I'd review everything again before you take the exam and while emphasizing your weaknesses.

    Reg 77 (Aug 11)
    Aud 80 (Nov 11)
    BEC 79 (Jan 12)
    FAR 80 (April 12)

Not close at all. A 69 might as well be a 0 because you have to get 75 to pass the next time. You did well but you probably had a few areas where you were not too comfortable with and instead of strengthening those areas, you thought the other areas would compensate.

Focus on weak areas and tighten up other areas. You will no doubt pass soon!

    FAR Passed
    REG Passed
    AUD Passed
    BEC Passed

All aboard, this train's leaving. Next stop, TBD!

I actually scored a 69 the first time and just received a 83 the 2nd time around. Definitely review it all over again like it's your first time. Things will start clicking.

    Good luck!
