    Hey ladies and gents,

I have a problem that is making me worry a bit. I hope someone can help me out.

I’m currently on my last exam (FAR). However, the study material I have for FAR is Becker’s 2012. I am planning on taking the FAR exam end of November or early January. I am concerned that my Becker’s 2012 material is outdated for FAR and will not be sufficient for me to pass it if I take it in January.

I bought the books in 2012 but have passed AUD and BEC in 2013 with it. Will I have a problem with using FAR’s 2012 material from Becker if I take it early January?

    Appreciated!

    REG - 82
    AUD - 74, 87
    BEC - 84
    FAR - TBA

No offense, but why on God's green earth would you skip an entire window when you only have one exam to go? If I were you, I would REALLY REALLY REALLY consider sitting in the October-November window. Waiting five months to take your next section is going to put you in serious jeopardy of losing credit for your earlier exams if you fail a time or two. You should really think about ramping up your study schedule, sitting in the next window, and then take it again in January if you were to fail. Failing in November and retaking in January would suck, but failing in January and losing credit for a “Pass” would suck worse.

In response to your original question, you should be fine.

They haven't announced any changes for 2014, at least not that I've heard about, so you're *probably* OK. However, if it would make you feel more comfortable, you could get a cheaper secondary source that's up to date (Wiley book, NINJA notes, something along those lines) and use both.

I'm quite sure that I've seen others taking – and passing – with 2012 materials in 2013, so I'd say that if you gave it a shot in November, you'd for sure be OK with the older materials.
