Have Becker…should I supplement with Final Review/Test Bank?

So I’m studying for FAR with a test date in the third week of April, using becker. I’m wondering if a) I need to purchase supplementary materials and b) which ones? My boss recommends the becker final review, however, it’s pretty expensive and from what I can see includes a lot of supplementary lecture…I am grasping the subject matter pretty well (my university does a good job of teaching to the exam), and would really only buy it for the extra problems. Is Wiley test bank a better option, then? Or if I am doing okay on the Becker problems in the software, would you guys recommend I just use those and not worry about supplementary materials? I know some people end up doing fine using just Becker.

    FAR - 92 (7/13)
    AUD - 98 (10/13)
    REG - 92 (7/14)
    BEC - 95 (8/14)

If you have a strong grasp of the material and are doing fine with just the Becker software I think that you will be fine. I felt that it was more than adequate because it had around 1800 questions I think. Just keep plugging along with solely the Becker software.

I ‘m sure that the vast majority of people who use only Becker will say it is more than sufficient. There is a ton of material after all. But personally, I find the repetition of questions annoying, and I frequently recognize/memorize the MCQ's if I do them more than once. For relatively little money, I think the Wiley test bank is an excellent supplement — many new questions and simulations, and a great stats display which illustrates your strong and weak areas.

I haven't looked at the Final Review products, but I wouldn't spend an extra second on watching more lectures. It's all about practicing questions and sims.

Keep in mind that the progress tests will throw new MC questions at you. I didn't use the final review and felt well prepared. I would skip the final review and just do MC questions all day. There are several hundred MC questions for each chapter that you can access through the progress test. I would do them in blocks of 20 for each chapter individually. Then do a comprehensive test with maybe 5 or 6 problems per chapter. This way you can go through multiple topics in a short amount of time and you get to see what you got right or wrong fairly quick. I didn't find it too helpful to do a test that takes 2 or 3 hours to complete without knowing if I was on the right track or not as I went through it.
