I am taking m last exam,FAR, this Friday (3/10) and was wondering if anyone knows if the exam would be made harder because it is the last day of the quarter and especially since it is the last day of this format. I am really hoping not, but I keep having nightmares about this!!! Any insight?

Probably not. The speculation has been that Q1 exams have been easier due to the number of people cramming to get the exams out the way.

More people cramming and failing = higher chances to pass since AICPA tries to keep pass rate around 50%. That is the current speculation of many test takers at least.

I agree with brickell CPA, I think Exams are easier this quarter. I took BEC and REG, and they were not as hard as exams I have taken in the past. But that could be just my own speculation.

i think it's a silly idea to think that exams are easier or more difficult based on what quarter they are administered..

but that's just me.

having said that, i sincerely hope that this quarter's test is easier lol

From the last score release I saw quite a few passing scores but once again most people don't comment on the thread if they didn't pass. That's how it was for me on AUD when I had to retake twice. Tonight's score release should be a good indicator though of how the AICPA is administering the pass rate. Seemed like a lot of people had big score jumps from retakes last score release and many people passed after thinking they bombed but who the hell knows. The way these exams are graded/scored/given to us is a mystery and that is a good thing in the long run because once we are all CPAs we wont want just anyone passing these brutal exams.

To correct myself, what I should have said was that the scoring may be easier or “curved” more during Q1 testing window to keep the pass rates around 50%…not that the actual exam/testing will be any easier. But who knows.
