Who else is spending Memorial Day weekend studying like me? I’m studying for FAR. Could be my last one for me. This test is like studying for REG, AUD and BEC combined.

By the way, do you all feel that Becker’s FAR questions are ridiculous? As in extremely long and crazy? They differ much from the AICPA released questions for FAR. From past experience, I have noticed the exam questions are not as long and crazy as some of these becker questions. So I’m trying not to stress on some questions I just can’t figure out at this point.

Looks like we're in the same boat! My exam is Thursday so i'm studying allllll weekend. FAR is also my last one and i'm completely overwhelmed with the amount of material on this exam. I made a post the other day about how I was so frustrated trying to do the Becker homework that I couldn't get myself to focus on it anymore. It was taking me hours to get through a small amount of problems. I bought the Ninja MCQs and have been doing those for a few days and I am able to focus a lot better because the questions are shorter and don't require all the calculations. I'm not feeling very hopeful since I am averaging about 65% but hoping I can at least get that up to 75% by Thursday. I did not have any governmental or not for profit in college so i'm really struggling to understand and remember those chapters.

Thats what FAR is on Becker. Extremely long questions so you leave out the smallest detail and get the question wrong. My favorite becker question was dealing with equity treatment for investments in subs. You buy in year 1 and record the adjustments for income and dividend. In year 2 the sub gives out 2 dividends one in the first half and one in the second half. income is 15,000 per quarter. you sell half the stock. Then you gotta figure out how much is left in your investment account at year end when its you account for it using the cost? (i forgot the terminology) method. It's really not that hard it just challenges your reading skills and making sure you do everything super carefully

I'm spending the weekend studying for AUD here! Good luck with FAR!! I wouldn't do that again if my life depended on it. It's so tough. After surviving it I feel like I'm not taking as AUD as seriously as I should be. But we will see what happens. Good luck everyone!!

Yep, studying this weekend! I'm done with testing for May (just took FAR), but throwing myself into REG material (I'm a bit of a tax law nerd and work part of my job as a paralegal) is helping distract me from the agony of waiting for my FAR score.
