I am just about half way thru FAR NINJA MCQ new questions and literally want to puke. It’s ridiculous how long they take to do (averaging 1:40 a question). I guess it’s because it takes longer because I read the answer but there have been many times where I want to go to bathroom and do nothing but puke. I guess you just keep going till your eyeballs want to pop out and just keep drilling info in your head until it sticks. Anyone else feel this dramatic about FAR MCQ’s? All the other exams did not have me feeling this way at all.

I did all of CPAexcel MCQ plus about 4.5k/4.4k on Ninja. First time when I did the questions on CPAexcel, it would take me hours just to do 15-20 questions because you are seeing it the first time and you aren't sure how to attack it.

Drink water and get back to MCQs. But if there is blood in the puke, take a 10 minutes break and do 100 more.

I feel like 80 MCQ's is the max I can do in a day without forgetting what the hell I studied that day. Do 60 new MCQ's and 20 “Missed last time.” Maybe do like 120-130 on weekend days when have entire day but these FAR questions are not easy the first time around. It is crazy to think the examiners could ask such long drawn out questions but what do they care. Guess I gotta just keep on chuggin' thru them and drink a ton of water and coffee.

Teeth are brushed, I *WILL* finish the first pass (unseen questions only) through FAR by Sunday afternoon.

I start over at the beginning on Monday, and will run through all ~1700 again at least once to get my average around 80%. 13 days to go…ooof.

I am with you on the time thing (I am using WTB for FAR) . It is quality learning learning time if you are taking the time to read all of the explanations though. If you are getting through them in 1.4M average you will be good on the actual exam. At that speed you will have close to two hours for the SIMS. Keep Grinding; It will be worth it in the end. @mecrushya you are ahead of me. Through the end of the weekend I will have completed 1,265 questions total of which 200 will be “missed last time questions.” I have a busy week of studying today and will not start reviewing till next Sunday which scares me since I am scheduled to take on 3/10. It is taking a lot longer because I am reading and writing NINJA notes daily. Sure as hell hope I am ready as we are less than 2 weeks out.

Good luck, @Cruzer! I am still working questions on paper so I pick up details, but it takes forever! I also got Ninja notes as part of the buy two, get one free but I haven't cracked them open yet.

I have 3/4 through 3/9 off from work so I plan on putting in about 40 hours before 3/10. Maybe I can get through the notes a couple of times, too.

This last push is downright exhausting. I didn't have to work anywhere near this hard to get through BEC, AUD or REG. 🙁

MCQs are good and all. But if you need a break read through some of the concepts instead. Doing MC questions one after the other can be super exhaustive, especially for FAR. The actual test MC questions have a fair mix of conceptual stuff and 2 min math problems (at least they did on my test), you won't have to do 50 pension benefit expense questions in a row so don't practice as if you will have to.

That's a good point, and while I make the first run through the entire test bank is one category at a time, the second and third passes are sets of 30 random questions. I think the ability to jump from subject to aubject within a 30-question testlet is a good reflection of one's working knowledge.

We all know that the FAR exam can hit us with anything at any point – we might as well practice that strategy as much as possible.

@RockLobster @Mecrushya I figure to keep my working knowledge of FAR material fresh I have been doing 60 “New” and 20 “Missed last time” (of all sections I have done MCQ through). There really is no easy way around FAR so you just got to step up the to the plate and swing for base hits. Hopefully on exam day we end up hitting a grand slam and everyone gets a drink. I firm believer of changing up routine also each day and studying at different times. Getting yourself comfortable of this material in the uncomfortable is the best way to learn anything in life.

There were so many times – so many questions – that I wanted to throw my laptop across the room and just watch it smash into a zillion pieces, while working on FAR MCQ.
I couldn't get through them fast at all either. The good thing is that on FAR, there aren't that many calculation MCQ. Of the 90 questions, I'd say only 25 (if that) were computational
and the rest were conceptual. And, the computations usually were not extensive. Someday, I have to go back and re-take FAR. I doubt I'm going to do it until after taking the other three parts.
But, the MCQ actually surprised me on the actual test. I was expecting to just not finish the test at all because I wouldn't have time to do the SIMs, due to the MCQ taking me so long to complete.

By the time I am done with this exam, if I ever get done with it, I'm going to have tons of battle scars. It's not even a test of competency, it's a test of endurance. Frat initiation, for lack of a better description.
