Guys I need some FAR advice..

I have a FAR exam on the 31st. I have already finished the becker live class, and I have 8,9 and 10 left to complete for homework (governmental, non profits and partnerships).

It’s getting overwhelming right now, and I spoke to my current boss about getting some time off next week to really prepare, and my boss told me quite frankly, “No”. I don’t feel like I have enough time at all. I only have to work 40 hours, but I have to work alternating shifts (mornings, swing, graveyard) throughout the week, and it really messes up my study time. I haven’t started at my CPA firm yet (I start in sep), and I still work in a retail outlet. I can’t just quit my job because I need money to pay my bills.

My last day for the NTS is 7/5/13. I want to reschedule FAR to July 5th, but I have BEC on the same week. I have most of the material down for FAR, and I have little bit of catch up on BEC.

Do you think i should reschedule FAR to July 5th and take BEC and FAR in the same week?

If you think trying to navigate studying around your work schedule is intense, try to imagine 2 exams in the same week! I say buckle down and get it over with on the 31st. It certainly can be done.

    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

I agree. You can do this. You only have 3 sections left and to be honest 8-9 are essentially one big section with no Sims in 8 and they really overlap. 10 is a mess of topics but its not all that difficult so getting through the questions shouldn't be bad and the content isn't that bad. If you have to allocate scarce time focus more on Govt. and NFP than on Chapter 10. You won't regret having a firm grasp on government and non-profit accounting concepts, trust me.

Its amazing what A71 can do. I had the worst test anxiety ever about 2 days ago, to the point where I wasn't sleeping, eating, and continually worrying about failing. After reading some posts of past experiences and some great advice… I now have my confidence back, and that's what is important to pass. Just have faith that you know what your talking about and don't second guess your knowledge come test day.

You got this. I agree you need those chapters though. Work as many MCQs as you can once you get through the remaining chapters. Good luck!

we are all nervous and that's normal. Just breathe and nail this test. what ever you do don't go back. Keep your test dates unless its an absolute emergency. Keep working.

    It begins with a 75

Personally, I would probably reschedule both. But, that's just me.

Learning all this material is stressful enough. Why add very tight time constraints, too?

For me, when I'm racing against the clock, I end up putting so much of my attention on the timeline that I don't put enough focus and attention on the material.

Yes, setting a deadline keeps you motivated and moving forward, but it also adds anxiety, which can prevent you from learning.

It's better to learn the material, rather than race through and just barely know it.
