Hi – I am struggling on the Gov’t and Not for Profit,particulary around the different governmental fund activities and also some of the differences in the non for profit area. Does anyone know if this is heavily tested on the exam? What areas should I focus on the most? Thx!

yes, it could be 10-12% of your entire grade.

It's very heavily tested. You must know those AJE's! It will feel like gov/non-profit is every other question on the exam.

Govt & NFP can EACH be up to 12% of your test! And I agree with cpham4 – you will feel like it's every other question. I was crunched for time and thought I could “common sense” my way through those questions. NO WAY. I wish I spent more time practicing the MC and really understanding the journal entries.

That is one area where you can't take the chance of it not being on the exam. For some reason, they love to test that.

Be sure to understand that these are two separate areas of the CSO. For some reason people (myself included) try to lump them together. Big mistake.

Has anyone seen simulations on these topics? The Wiley test bank does have any, which made me think it isn’t tested for SIMS

I would definitely try to work SIMS for GOVT and NFP…Becker has some. I don't know about Wiley. Maybe check CPAreviewforfree?

Understand the “basics” of government and NFP and you'll do well on the MCs. The real details come into play with the SIMS.
