I have just gotten to Governmental accounting in my exam review and this is the first section where I have had 0 exposure to up to this point. Just got through the lecture and I feel like 80% of it went right through me.

What did you guys do to learn or understand it better? The example questions don’t seem too bad, but like I said a lecture where they skim the material is no where near enough for me to learn it.

    Tips/tricks?

Confidence is a prerequisite for success

    FAR - 1/1
    AUD - 1/1
    BEC - 1/1
    REG - Q4

Have Becker, wish I got Roger

I had a Governmental sim on my exam, had zero clue as to how to answer it and still managed to pass. I'd recommend not spending more time on governmental if you've already gone over it once (gone through text and answered MCQs). It'd be wise to use your time mastering other parts that weigh more heavily on the exam. If I remember correctly, Governmental makes up something like 10% of the exam. If time isn't an issue, then I'd spend more time answering MCQs.

Not so fast number1k; Government and Not-for profit equal 20% total, and they are so similar and so (somewhat) easy. Everything is accounted for differently, but they make sense in their own weird world. 20% = 16-20 questions out of 90 according to my fried brain math. Nothing to sneeze at, but should all be answerable with an extra pass through of the material.

    REG- (1) 76
    FAR- (2) 64, (5)74, (7)83 (Over achiever!)
    AUD- (3) 70, (4) 75
    BEC- (6) 75

tomq04 correct, but the original post referred to Governmental accounting and makes no mention to NFP accounting. I personally do segregate the two as I had/have zero exposure to Governmental but do have experience with NFPs through audits.

Just so you know, if you don't see many govermental MC questions don't get too excited. Chances are high that your gonna get a simulation. One way or another, 10% of your score will be based on this topic.

Also I agree tomq04 in that this is easy points on the exam. I would rather skimp on a hard topic than an easy topic. (you shouldn't skimp at all since everything is fair game)
