I know that it is hard to pick out certain topics to concentrate on, all the information is fair game. But if there were 4 topics on governmental accounting that I should make sure I know what are they?

I found one of the most important parts of governmental to be simply classification. governmental vs proprietary vs fiduciary and each of the funds in those categories, and what basis of accounting each uses (full accrual vs modified accrual).

I'd say modified accrual in general is important to know. they're going to throw in questions that are really easy to get right if you know that modified accrual is supposed to be used and how it works. of course, answer A will be the correct modified accrual answer, and answer B will be an answer that looks totally logical, but it's full accrual so it's wrong.
