Hi All,

I know the funds pretty well; their function, their method of accounting, etc.

What else is a must know in Governmental accounting???

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Definitely budgetary entries such as appropriations and encumbrances. Don't forget that at the end of the fiscal year the budgetary entry is reversed. Take a look at some interfund transactions such as transfers or reciprocal transactions (due to/due from entries). Other than that what you said you're familiar with is a good portion of what they test. Like you said accounting method (all governmental funds use modified accrual; all proprietary & fiduciary funds use accrual). Government wide FS are the accrual basis of accounting (fiduciary funds are eliminated from Government wide statements). You should probably familiarize yourself with the different required statement for each fund type & the required statements and sections of CAFR.

You've taken the exam a few times so I'm sure you're familiar with some of the questions they ask. I'd hit the Ninja MCQs for Governmental Accounting (if you have them) pretty hard; they have questions on pretty much all of the topics that will be tested.
