I’ve been studying for my first CPA exam for about 3 and half weeks now. I’m going to take FAR first and my plan was to take it in early October. But in the past 3 weeks a half, I’ve estimated about 170 hours of study time. These are just rough estimations because I also counted some hours where I snuck in some study time by doing Wiley questions at work, every time that I am out I have notes on my ipod. I pretty much spend all my free time trying to study.

I haven’t even gotten my application approved yet (still waiting), but I’m reconsidering taking the test in October and maybe take it at the last week of August instead. I’m using the Yaeger CPA review and I’m towards the end of the 51 hour video marathon. Should I think about taking the test in August or am I just going insane studying for FAR?

If you're able to get that much study time in so far and you continue to do that through the end of August, I think you could easily take it at the end of August instead.
