You can't afford to think like that! Honestly, be positive. Did you study? Then when a question comes up, read it, read the answers and pick the right one! Don't freak yourself out, don't stress… You've all got this in the bag, and it's time to start acting and thinking like it.

You prepared, so you have seen every topic that should come up. If one comes up you didn't see, then use your reasoning and try to pick the best one.

I hope each one of you goes in to the test with a “I will beat this damn test” attitude instead of a “I probably will have to retake it” attitude.

Hey, Witchkizzle, I didn't quite mean it in the sense of giving up. (Congrats on getting licensed last mo btw!!) Basically knowing me I'm going to put in the same amount of work either way. It just comes down to how attached I am to the outcome.

It is my 1st test & I'm worried about not being able to concentrate well on test day so I think the “ah I can just retake it in the next window” mentality is going to defray a lot of the test stress. But thanks for the words of encouragement – positive attitude always important!!

@Witchkizzle I can only speak for myself but since this is my first exam and the one with the most amount of material I think it's a little nerve-wracking going into this exam because we have nothing else to gauge it against. I have to question myself everyday and determine if I know “enough” about a subject. I'm trying my hardest to be positive but it's easy to get discouraged. Thank you for the encouraging words though, sometimes that's all we need to hear to keep our heads straight! 🙂

I agree….FAR is my worst section! We can get through it though, like witchkizzle says, we need to remember it is a short term thing and stay focused. Good luck to you all!

@EELCPA – My review period was 11 days, my plan was to re-write key notes for each chapter and re-do all off the MCQ's twice in Becker. Before moving on to the next chapter I take a progress test to keep the material fresh. After 5 chapters I re-write the notes from Ch.1-5. Good Luck! I'll keep you posted on my experience this Friday.

I see what you guys mean. I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous before my tests. I do think the “I can always re-take it” attitude can help take a little stress off. I mean, it isn't going to kill you if you fail, right?

My wife would always tell me something like, “even if you fail this time, you are still that much closer to being a CPA. You will pass eventually, and it will probably be this time”

I failed Audit my first time taking it. I felt terrible about myself, because I knew I should have passed it. I didn't study like I should have and started blowing it off because I was getting lazy and arrogant. I felt like I let a lot of people down, like my parents, my wife, and my wife's parents and family.

So, I understand the feelings y'all are having. You will all pass if you stick with it. Honestly, it may not be and doesn't HAVE to be this time. The thing is, it CAN be this time. Do your best to make that happen!

It wouldn't kill me, but it'd break my heart and soul. 🙂

I can agree with everyone. Studying for this exam sucks. I am taking it tomorrow. I feel pretty good as long as I don't get an insane gov sim.

    @ misanthrope

    I know what you mean.

In my post I have this “I failed Audit my first time taking it. I felt terrible about myself, because I knew I should have passed it. I didn't study like I should have and started blowing it off because I was getting lazy and arrogant. I felt like I let a lot of people down, like my parents, my wife, and my wife's parents and family.”

So, I know what you are talking about. It broke my heart and soul too.

This is spot on. I half assed it on REG and BEC, and I felt like shit because I knew I could have done better if I applied myself more. As long as I tried my best, I don't feel bad about not passing. I feel like I built a great foundation to build on for the next round (AUD & FAR).

Exactly. You can never, or should never, be dissapointed in yourself if you can truly say you gave it your absolute BEST shot.

Just make sure your best is what you are giving it.

When I got my failing grade back, I posted it up on the outside of my cubicle wall. I hated when people would make comments about my failing grade, but I used it as motivation to pass the second time around. I knew I was better than that grade, and I proved it on my re-take.
