Girlfriend will not stop hassling me about how much I am studying

Anyone have an idea on how to get a girlfriend (with a low IQ) who cannot see the light at the end of a tunnel to understand why I need to study every second of the day?

I’m to the point where I just want to say “No I do not want to sit around watch the E! channel with you”

She’s like “When are you going to come over and hang out?” and by hang out I mean, literally, sitting there and watching TV. I hate TV with a passion as most of the stuff she watches is complete garbage. Should I just start sending myself my notes on my iPhone and studying my notes while I’m sitting there “hanging out”?

I want to strangle her sometimes…damn…

I want to strangle her sometimes.. haha I needed a good laugh.. If she doesn't understand your need to spend every second on this exam. I would tell her how you feel, and if she doesn't understand it you need to make the decision of whats more important.. CPA or GF…….

If she's not here for your struggles.. she shouldn't expect to be there with your success! Remember that!

DTMFA. Start dating that chick on here whose boyfriend dumped her because she was studying so much. You can watch Becker lectures together instead of TV. It'll be romantic.

Yeah…call her and say, “Welcome to Dumpsville…population – you”. Then pass the CPA exam and find yourself a new sugar momma.

“a girlfriend (with a low IQ)”..

If you think like that about her, why are you dating her anyways?

Ya seriously. Why are you dating her at all even absent CPA study considerations? It sounds like you genuinely look down on her and what she likes to do.

Oh you will be fine! I thought the exam was pretty close to what Becker prepared me for. Just wish I spent more time on CPA liability stuff…or at least read it once…

I agree with @CPATerminator and @cardinalhoya. It sounds like you really look down on her. If you can't respect the things that she enjoys (regardless of how silly you think they are) you can't expect her to do the same for you. I'm sure you don't “enjoy” studying but you get what I mean. Granted the CPA exam is more important than watching E! and she should probably be a bit more understanding toward your situation and realize this is only a temporary sacrifice. However, a relationship works both ways and I think you should watch the things you say about her. I don't think she'd appreciate your comments. Maybe I'm off-base about your attitude toward her but that's what I gathered from your original post.

    FAR 7/5/12 83
    AUD 7/20/12 86
    BEC 8/6/12 74; retake 11/20/12 76
    REG 11/5/12 74; retake 1/3/13 77! DONE! 🙂

If you don't share in each others personal interests and cannot understand the things that are important to the other person, then it seems like you never had too much in common to start with. If these are your sentiments about your girlfriend and she could care less about your studies, then why even put forth the effort of dating?
