In the accounting realm, there are many options. First and foremost you can work in for a Public accounting firm. Most of these firms, especially the big four, will only hire people who have met the education requirements to become a CPA. These req vary from state to state. I would definitely check out if you degree qualifies (I hope it does), but they are very strict with all that. Secondly you can work for the Gov't, you really don't need at certificates for these type of jobs, but they can't hurt your chances. You can also do taxes. If this is all your looking for I would stick to an EA. Lastly, you can always work for a small accounting firm. I doubt that they would require much, but the only caveat being these positions will offer lower pay and no mobility. Hope I helped. Good luck on all your endeavors Liz.
