Game Plan for FAR?

I recently passed BEC and just took REG today. My study plan for these two sections ended up being drastically different due to the material. For BEC, I had a very structured formula of first CPAexcel lectures and MCQ, then using Wiley Texbook and Wiley Test Bank along with Ninja Notes and Ninja Audio. For REG, my study plan was all over the place cause having a structured formula did not help with so much material (we’ll see how that works out once the scores come out). I am just wondering, what would be a good game plan for FAR? I am planning on taking it in 11 weeks, on 7-11-14.

My plan was the exact opposite of yours.

For BEC, I used CPA Review for Free notes (didn't know about this website) and questions. I figured it was just a CMA rehash, and I was mostly right. I added WTB at the end.

For AUD, I did the same prep but it wasn't enough, so I added Ninja notes and flashcards, and improved just enough to pass. My retake was after REG.

For REG, I had a free CPA Excel REG class from one of my tax textbooks, so I watched all the videos, did the WTB and some CPA Review for Free questions.

For FAR, I am using the Wiley Textbook and the Yaeger CRAM that I won in a drawing. I have the Ninja flashcards that I bought for $1. I am not getting through the book as fast as I want, but I am doing every multiple choice question. Test is in 4 weeks, May 24th. I will work on SIMS at the end plus WTB. I thought the REG SIMS were easy, so I am hopeful for FAR.

CPA Excel has been my favorite so far, and AUD is really boring.

Thanks for the responses everyone. Man, the score release can't come soon enough.

i think the best method for FAR are the multiple choice questions. It's so much information and you really need to narrow down what's actually important aka the items you will be tested on. Best way to do that? Practice MC constantly. I'd listen to audio, take general notes. Write as little as you can, and focus on the things you don't know when going through audio or reading. Then doing set after set of MC and detail your notes from that.

What i did with FAR, which slowed me down was writing every little thing i thought i'd forget. There's so much content i went through an 80 page tablet in the first 3 chapters, not including scratch paper. Ridiculous

Make sure you understand all the chapters, not just memorize information. Work MCQs like crazy, go over theory like crazy, and focus on conceptually understanding the material. The SIMS on the actual exam will be much harder than the sims in your review course, so I would suggest just hammering MCQs to prepare for the SIMs.

    FAR - 93
    REG - 87
    BEC - 84!!!!
AUD - 99!!!!!! CPA exam complete.
