I am using both Becker and Wiley to study for my exam and I am confused about the IFRS vs GAAP for marketable securities.
I know GAAP is trading, AFS, and HTM. Becker told me IFRS is amortized cost, FVOCI and FVPL. However, Wiley says IFRS is Amortized Cost and FVPL with gains and losses going into OCI anymore. I was also told through Wiley that under IFRS only debt securities can be reclassified and equity securities cannot. Can anybody please explain the actual answer for this.
