    Hi all,

This is my first time ever posting on another71.com. I am so stressed out today that I would want to vent it out to all veterans out there regarding this beasty exam. I want to share how great everyone is doing on this site with their studies despite having to work full time. I just started working recently (recent grad) at a pretty big corporation. Let me tell you guys how much I admire how you all can study and work through tough deadlines as public or private accountants. Since my exam is coming up, I’ve been feeling extremely frustrated and stressed due to work and the fact that I’ve been doing horrible on my MCQ. Besides venting, I want to hear some suggestions from all of you pros out there. I’ve been getting 70-low80s on my MCQ for Wiley book and WTB. My exam is schedules on the 13th of January. Would you all think I should reschedule or just study a ton and go for it? I’ve always felt ready for exams in college and know that I would do decent. However, this exam is making me doubt myself a ton. I can already imagine how hard the board can make the TBS so hard and it scares me. Please help a rookie out. Thank you.

I would just study a ton and go for it. The first exam is a punch in the face. I'm taking test #4 in February and I'm still tweaking my study routine. The CPA exam is really a test on how to take the test.

I think you should go for it too. Take a few days off before the exam and study full time. That's what I did. Before those last few days I studied mostly on weekends. Got a little done during the week but never that much as I was just too tired after work.

If you can understand the concepts of each question and score above 80%+ I'd go for it. Otherwise I'd study more! You will never feel “ready” per se.

    Relax, it's only the beginning.

Don't worry so much about your Wiley scores because they are cumulative. As long as you can score in the mid 70's-80's near the exam you will be fine. Like the others have said, know the concepts. I was nervous just like you and my WTB overall score for MC was 73, Sim's 85 and I got an 87 on the my first exam.

Go for it! The first exam is the hardest because you don't know what to expect. I've used Jeff's method and it's worked so far. Good luck.

yea try not to over worry. not sure if thats possible since when I did my 1st exam, I could feel a panic attack. Now that I am getting used to the format and so on, I am learning to keep calmer. Like the others, I say definitely keep studying and go for it. The 1st one is always like mind bogging . GOOD LUCK!!
