W_HAMILTONMemberThat's almost three months, so that's plenty of time to study, especially if you aren't currently working. The only issue will be how quickly you pick up the material, given that you don't have an accounting background. I'm not familiar with Yeager, but do they provide enough background material to be able to pick it up and pass the test if you don't have a background in accounting? I know Becker assumes that you already have quite a bit of knowledge about accounting (at least in terms of debits and credits) and it's more of a review of college accounting courses.
REG - 93 (7/30/13)
BEC - 90 (8/19/13)
AUD - 98 (8/31/13)
FAR - 84 (10/19/13)October 31, 2013 at 1:18 am #463897

Study MonkMemberI am spending six weeks on FAR and it feels like it will be enough time with not working. With three months on one exam you should be able to teach a class on passing FAR by then. You might want get a basic accounting text book. I have a book call the encyclopedia of journal entries that you should get. What I am confused about is how you qualify to sit for the exams with no accounting background?
I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:
"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

RheaMember@W_HAMILTON…Thanks for your input, Video lectures of Cindy are quite good but don't like Phils lecture that much since he confuses at time. Some points they explains well or else they also assume that you have familiarity with the topic.
And yes i have quite good understanding of debit and credit.but some how i slowed down because of negative thoughts.6 more chapters to go now.
Please suggest me how should i review once i am done with video lectures and Minimum MCQs they tell to solve?

KADFCMemberIf it makes you feel any better, over 50% of the things you study for FAR will NOT appear on the exam.
3 months should be more than enough since you're not working. I'd say about 6 or 7 weeks, 7 hours a day should do it (if not overkill)
FAR - 62 (10/2/13), 50 (5/30/14)
AUD - 73 (10/30/13), 66 (5/6/14)
REG - 69 (4/8/14)
BEC - 66 (2/27/13), 73 (4/21/14)October 31, 2013 at 2:04 am #463907

Study MonkMemberI meant no offense by the class teaching comment just thought it would boost his confidence in regards to time. Based on his intro it sounded like he had no accounting classes when 24 units is the minimal I know of to sit. He must be qualifying for the exam through his Cajun connections?
