    Hi guys,

I am retaking FAR for the 2nd time on February 21st and I am freaking out!!!!

I took it for the first time back in November so it has been a while. I got 63 on the first try. I use Becker.

For this time, I did not watch the lecture but i read the book and I have been re-doing the MCQs and Sims. I should be able to finish up to Lecture 10 by next Monday (2/11). But I feel like I still don’t absorb all the materials and don’t fully understand them. Same as the 1st try =(

So my question is what do you recommend to do for about 10 days after doing the MCQs? Should I do MCQs twice? I got the Ninja Note but it is so different from Becker so I honestly do not even know how i should efficiently use it. I try to look at it every day tho.

Also, if I still feel not ready to take the retake on the 21st, should I delay my exam to April? Would this be too much considering the amount of time I have spent already (I have been studying about 3 weeks)??

My life is in shambles………… HELP!!!

    @heidster08

I know how you feel. I have the same question only this is my first time taking far. I have studied off and on since December. I studied all of January except for the week tax season began. My days are longer and I expected them to be so. I don't want to wait til April since I have put some time in, but I an not comfortable at all with my review course. I don't have any videos so I am not sure if wiley is enough. I have been writing, reading, writing and reading again only to be unsure. I am not finished with the materials. So heidster08 I have the same dilema. My 21 year old son saw that I was worried and asked what can he do to help, I ran the scenario by him and his reply made a lot of sense….He said, wait til April, finish your materials, and take the test in April. he says: I can't lose by being thorough. Sounds great, but I am still undecided. I barely got a chance to study today. Missing a day is like missing a week.

I will be reading for ideas as well…….

    It begins with a 75

I think you have an advantage in that you've taken the exam once and have an idea of what you need to do to be prepared for the second time. It seems most people recommend re-reading through the book/materials and continue doing MCQ's. Since you've already studied the materials once before, it sounds like you should concentrate on the areas where you feel you are weak. I think it comes down to finding the best way for you to study.

@heidster keep hammering out the MC's!!!! I believe they are the key to passing the exam. With this much time left, you should be able to get through the MC again in Becker. And you should be able to get through F8 and F9 multiple times as there are very few computational problems.

    Good luck!!

    “F” calm… get angry. ( <3 you Nam! )

    🙂

Annihilate, crush, conquer, overpower, dominate, defeat, kill, Kill, KILL!

It's you against this exam. One of you will win.

The above folks have given good suggestions. I put it all together at the end. Take a full length practice exam to evaluate my strengths weaknesses. Beginning with my weakest spots I will do summary review, one chapter at a time. Read the ninja notes, read my notes, and then summarize the two and write it out. Then I do 10-30 MCQ 1-3 SIMS on the topic, depending on how important the topic is. As I work through the problems I have a separate notebook that I write “fact nuggets” in. Just rewriting concepts/rules over again helps me retain info.

Do this for every topic until you are scoring 75-80s. Then do another practice exam a few days later. Rinse. Repeat.

Are you allowed to reschedule to April? I've never gotten a good enough answer on this. Do we just cancel the current exam, get a new NTS, and then reschedule without having to pay Prometrics a fee?
