Mrs 300ParticipantI have never had this much anxiety about a test before! I am taking a study break and I just had to vent! I guess I just have to tell myself what I tell myself on all the others – “I hope they test me on what I know!” And I really mean that! I have so many weaknesses and I am trying to work through them. At this point, I just feel like no matter what I do, I can’t master some of the material.
Hoping for a miracle!

ledgermavenMemberThe fact that you have already mastered three areas with only 4 exams is fantastic. It would be great if you pass this exam first time but not necessary, you have already shown that you will persevere. Let that extra pressure fade away and think that at least you will be exposed to what is involved for this one, giving you an edge the next time if need be.
Good luck 🙂

GivemesleepMemberMrs300 – It's normal to freak as it approaches. Generally it is easier then the monster we create in our heads. Remember almost 50% pass, you seem dedicated based upon prior passes on sections, so my guess is you are in the good 50%.
Good luck, dont freak out, take a break and go have some fun or spend time with the kiddos what ever works. I solve the difficult stuff when I sleep, the brain keeps churning.

SherridMemberI know how you feel. I get so much anxiety I want to throw up. I spent today studying virtually non stop and I've been getting up @ 5a.m. every day to cram in as much review time as possible. My test is on the 26th and if I pass I'm done and if I don't I lose credit for Reg.

Mrs 300ParticipantGood luck Sherrid! Hopefully we will both do well since it appears that we are preparing! I am the same way – up super early because I can't sleep already! I will be happy when it's over. Tomorrow (day before test) is my Govt and Non-Profit day. I think I have everything else mastered as close as I'm going to get it!

AnonymousInactiveI bet because this is your last exam you're having even more anxiety than before. I know with FAR (which was my first exam) I actually had an anxiety attack during the exam! But don't stress about it! It seems you've been studying well and have been able to pass 3 of the 4 exams so far you should be FINE!… I would definitely try to work out your weaknesses as much as you can before your exam date though just don't spend “TOO” much time on just one area – get at least 70% consistently and move on- because there's so much material like you said you don't know what you'll be tested on. I walked out of the testing center thinking man I spent all that time studying and they barely tested me on anything! Good luck – you'll do great!

HustlinHustlinMemberOk, I am joining your anxiety party. I have spent all day and last night reviewing by doing quizzes per chapter and only got to consolidations before I started getting really depressed and angry BC I don't remember a lot of this stuff. Before I was thinking I could have a good shot just by doing mcq over and over again, but now I am finding I pretty much have to reread everything just to have a chance. Losing hope in a major way… Should I just skip to the progress tests and take notes on my weaknesses from there? 9 hours today and I feel like I have gotten nowhere

What worked best for me in prior exams is to use the Nmeonics from Becker! Especially Grassp for the gov't funds, Sirage for pensions, and carinbig for consolidations. Before I start answering questions I write them down, along with other items I need to remember (just in case I get stressed, and my mind goes numb) such as “third man out” tax%, trick, and date. I do this because there have been times when I've done a calculation for an OCI item and forgot it's (net of tax) so if a tax percentage is given I pay attention to whether or not I'm going to need it- for me if it wasn't on my paper in my haste to answer the question I might forget, same thing with paying attention to dates for interest, amortization, etc. Good luck to you guys, hopefully we all pass!
OOPS…I forgot Jeff”s SPEAR BAR (sorry Jeff)
Have a productive day studying!

Mrs 300ParticipantI wanted to post last night, but I didn't want to scare anyone. So if you are nervous about the exam, please stop reading now!
It was a complete and utter disaster. I looked a the 1st 5 questions of the 1st testlet and was certain that I had been given the wrong test. By the time I got to the 3rd testlet, there was not ONE EASY QUESTION. I felt like my head was going to explode.
The SIMS were laughable. I really did envision the examiners doing the evil witch cackle because they somehow knew what my exact weaknesses were.
Then I did the ever so horrible….look up answers in the book and saw I got stuff wrong! Aaahhhh! GOOD LUCK!!! I truly hope everyone does well. I still feel sick about it. The waiting is horrible!

HustlinHustlinMemberUgh, not exactly what I wanted to hear. I am going through my first progress test right now (WHICH I got a freaking 47% on and writing notes on the ones I got wrong. Going to keep doing them until I am satisfied, but I still want to take some time to write journal entries and other things I feel I should memorize. I am starting to feel really down today.
Is there anything you wish you would have done?
Hey and look on the bright side, the questions didn't get easier…so maybe you were putting in some lucky guesses.

Mrs 300ParticipantI have to tell you what I learned was not to kill myself to master some of the topics. I spent so much time studying stuff that wasn't tested. And I should have let go when I knew that I wasn't getting it. I also would have relaxed more. I think that being anxious and melting down did me no good! GOOD LUCK! You are going to do great!

SherridMemberMrs 300
I think you passed!!! When I sat for Reg I was absolutely certain I had failed and went home to check on some answers that I had answered correctly but changed it to an incorrect answer! I stopped studying for my next test because I was disappointed and lost motivation, then I found out I passed with an 81! I actually screamed and jumped up and down (not a pretty sight) I was shocked! It's when I think I've done well that I haven't passed….go figure. I've decided that the examiners like to screw with our minds! My test is this Thursday so I'll be prepared for bizarre questions.
Thanks for everyone's input.

Mrs 300ParticipantThank you so much for your encouraging words. I really hope that there was some sort of miracle and I passed.
I thought the MC were tough because they weren't covered in Becker. It just seemed like there was something tricky with every single question. There were very view questions that were straightforward!
The problem is, yes, I was tested heavily on like 3-4 different concepts! The exam had a theme and the 3-4 concepts were just rotated over and over and then there would be a random question in there about another topic. So flippin' weird.
OH – and something else – and this happened to me during Audit too… I had nearly identical questions in two of the testlets that were asked a little differently. It was almost like the examiners were trying to see if I had guessed the first time, or if I really knew it.
