kandisjoyParticipantCPAexcel – Studied all of their material, took every question, made a ton of flash cards and used them constantly, and made notes with the Ninja Notes.

AnonymousInactiveUsing Becker…watched the whole lecture only highlighting. Went through each chapter after and took quick notes in a notepad. Then did each chapter's homework after finishing my notes. Re-read my notes one more time then did ALL the supplementary questions. Went to cpareviewforfree.com and did all the questions relating to the chapter I just finished.
For my final review I took sample quizzes with a max of 30 questions. Went through every wrong answer and knew EXACTLY why I got it wrong. There's no point in taking the entire sample test…why go through that many questions not knowing what you're getting wrong? Never made sense to me.
Passed with a 93. Best of luck to you…you can and will conquer this beast!

MyLifeisCPAMember@NextStop – Last window I got a 74 in AUD. I purchased the Roger Cram and the Ninja Notes and I made an 82 this window. I focused all my time on the Roger Cram, Ninja Notes, and MCQs.

nextstopCPAParticipantI plan to throw everything plus the kitchen sink at this next retake…hit MCQs, Sims, and notes hard and retake early April.
@gateway…I noticed that the SIMS are my downfall as well. So, this time around I plan to practice SIMS. Gleim has a useful SIM module. Be sure to focus on Risk Assessment…AICPA likes to test on that.

Tina82MemberI did the following: five weeks total study time with full time job (passed w/84)
1. watch becker lectures once and do the higlights (not sure if it's that useful so didn't spend too much time on it)
2. read the chapters slowly and take my own notes on everything (very time-consuming but makes the material sink in)
3. do all homework until I got them all right (not as time consuming after doing notes and definitely getting more right vs. no notes)
4. final review = skim chapters, redo homework, do final exams (the questions are different)
5. used ninja notes as an outline/final read through to get the framework in
did some extra questions on cpareviewforfree, but not too many, ran out of time. I did one becker chapter a week and one week of review. keep in mind I'm not concerned with getting a high score, just with enough to pass. that in mind, after taking audit I had no idea whether I passed on not.

AnonymousInactiveI only went through sims the week of my final review. I did each sim once, checked my answers and really focused on understanding why I got something wrong. Then, I cleared all sim answers…and did them again. Lastly, I went into the Practice test and just did the sims on both practice tests. It's annoying to “enter” your way through the first 3 testlets but worth it for the sim practice.
During the real exam I used the Research tab and looked over anything I wasn't sure of. I think it definitely gave me that edge because I changed 4 answers that were wrong by looking it up! You should have the time to use your research tab for the audit exam. If only I had that time in my FAR exam…left 3 sims blank. Still trying to forget that nightmare…
Again, best of luck to all!

franklint619MemberI was extremely confident going in. I went through the Wiley questions and the questions on cpareviewforfree.com. I believed that the questions would mainly be based on common sense in regards to audit evidence and controls so I didn't stress memorizing, just understanding.
Come test day, it was on. As the testlets went on, I thought the questions were getting easier. In fact, some questions were word for word, the exact same as the ones I've encountered either through Wiley or cpareview. However, I felt that it was because I knew the material. The sims were manageable and I used the research tab for each one and got some tidbit out of the literature in each simulation which helped in answering the questions. Nothing out of left field for the sims, so I think I lucked out.
I told my friends that I was confident enough knowing that I got at least a 70. Whether I passed or not was up to the AICPA and they answered my prayers and gave me my 75!
Just keep at it nextstopCPA, you'll pass next window!

ExperiencedAuditorMemberI suffered 5 years in a public accounting firm dealing with stupid employees, clients, and managers. That helped me get a 94.

mla1169ParticipantOn the first page of the ninja notes are some tips from Jeff. Follow them like you get to hold him personally responsible if you fail. (especially rewriting the notes) I would have busted on him bad if I failed AUD after I bought the notes and made his tips my religion! He never got the wrath of mla1169 😉

AnonymousInactiveWhat review course did you use….whatever it is supplement with Wiley.
Rewrite the notes twice from the entire review course and do Wiley at least three times over. I'm telling you that your mind eventually remembers which answer but then it begins backfilling like a bulldozer as to why the question is right.
