I just received my REG score from Wave 1 (since I’m in Wisconsin, the scores are released really late compared to other states), and I was shocked and relieved!

I want to echo what others here have already said about this section having a strong “curve” (or whatever you want to call it) in the grading. I was certain that I did not perform that well, and I was hoping for a score in the 80s, as I didn’t complete a number of tabs on the simulations due to running out of time. I found this section to be on par, in terms of difficulty level, with FAR. I typically do well on the mc questions and written communication areas, and that seems to really help my scores.

So, I just wanted to reassure anyone who is concerned about passing REG that the feelings about performance coming out of the exam may not be an indicator of your actual score. Keep in mind that these exams are not scored in the same way as typical tests from college, etc. They’re in a league of their own.

wow great scores! You could be in the running for that CPA exam score award if you do well on BEC also.

How did you feel leaving the BEC exam? I saw a lot of random questions on my exam.

As I told you earlier you probably don't need to worry as much as you did/do considering your past performances. If you put in the same dedication you're fine. And that certainly seems to be the case.

2010Please – Thanks so much. I know everyone here can appreciate the effort level I've put into this. I sure hope I did well on BEC.

CPAwant2be – I never intended to strive for any award. I am truly surprised at my scores so far. I worked hard, but the exams were tough. I felt as well prepared as I could be using Becker's materials going into BEC. That section does cover a lot of different topics. For the questions I marked, I returned to them and used educated guesses, which are supposedly better than random guesses – :o)

potatogun – Yes, I remember your encouragement, and you are so very right. I do tend to worry too much, in general. So, I thought I'd post to tell others not to do the same as far as REG goes with the scoring.

CPA Someday – Thank you. I don't know anything about any awards. I just tried my best with the hopes of not having to retake any sections.
