This discovery has been really helpful for me, so I thought I’d share…
If you have a mac, there is a free app you can download called “selfcontrol.” I’m sure there’s something just like it for non-macs. This thing is amazing. You type in a list of websites, set a timer, click ok, and it keeps you from getting to those websites for that amount of time. Alternately you can set it so that it only lets you visit one website (i.e. becker, in my case). There is basically no way to override it, even if you restart your computer. This thing has been a godsend for me on days when I sit down to study but just don’t want to, or find myself getting distracted easily.
Anyone else have any great discoveries?
