I know that final review plans have been discussed previously here but wanted to get different thoughts. 2 and a half weeks before exam date. This is how I am laying it out. Do MCQ’s for 3-4 topics from WTB (I used Becker for lectures but using WTB for final review) each day for 2-3 hours. Spend about an additional hour in re-writing notes for those topics. I am hoping to get done with all the topics in 9 days. This will leave me with about 7 days. This is when all I will be doing is MCQ’s of all the topics, reviewing notes and listening to Ninja Audio during free time. My biggest worry is SIMS. During my study sessions, I didn’t do much of SIMS (they take too long, can get overwhelming and at times demoralize). One thing I am doing different this time is that I have supplemented my Becker material with WTB and Ninja. I hope it all pays off. Thoughts on the final review plan?

I was reading earlier today about the best methods to cram before taking the SAT. They say that Reading is better than just watching lectures and doing your own flash cards is better than just reading. They also said that practicing MC questions until you feel stupid cause you have memorized the answers is better than reading and doing flash cards. So if you do a combination of reading the info you are not 100% sure and practice 30 to 90 mc per day, you will be ok. I fail to do enough MC questions and that's why I got a 74. You have to work on progress test covering all 10 chapter and not just questions after every chapter.

On audit my last review week was literally 8 hour days of multiple choice questions. On FAR my last week consisted of rewriting things, reading, and multiple choice questions. I now believe that multiple choice overload is the best approach during the review phase.

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

I agree with practicing SIMS. For every section I've completed I have done all the SIMS too. I've also done the research SIMS just to have practice in the codification. It may seem silly, but it also helps nail down some of the JEs and calculations that you will use for your MCQ when you practice the SIMS.

CR7, I would like to simplify the rules of Less & Greater Than Properties that you just posted above.

Watching Lectures < Reading notes/lectures < Writing Own Flashcards < MCQs

    MCQs + Reading = PASS

    Is that correct?

Amord, yes, but you will have to do each step to get to MC. According to the article, you can't just do MC assuming is better than the other methods of learning. This is like one method reinforces the other until you get to MC as your final method of studying. I watched the lectures, read the chapters, did a bunch of flash cards, but fail to do enough comprehensive exams. I did MC right after each chapter and got high 80s, but only a few comprehensive tests for my final two weeks. This time, I will work on Beckers final exams two weeks before the real one.

Thanks for the input. I will try squeezing in a few hours of SIMS on the weekends. I guess it's all about bringing it together (rewriting, doing tons of MCQ's and reviewing). Will emphasize on the MCQ's though.

last few days before exam, I do all-topic MCQ over and over while refering to my notes for each one even if I know it. This makes me search through my notes which helps. I don't do any SIMS or practice exams cus they just take forever and I personally don't have patience for them (however, they work well for others, just not me).

Do Recently Released questions for years 10-13. Google search for them!
