    OK Cyber Family. I need help!! I am not sure what to do. I have failed FAR again with the exact same grade. Last time I took it I studied for 7 days and failed with a 72. This time I studied for 3-4 weeks and failed with a 72. Obviously I am missing something. I am using Ninja Notes, Wiley test bank and Becker textbook. My becker has expired so I would have to pay $1k to renew it because it has been more than 365 days since I was awarded the Becker Promise. Please give me some advice. Also, I am usually a huge fan of the tough love but not today. The wound is too new so please only positive comments. I am barely holding back the tears as I sit at my desk.

    Thanks!

    No tough love here. My heart is broken for you! My advice is to get the Ninja audio and listen to it until you are sick of the sound of Jeff's voice. It works. I took REG seven (yes that is 7) times before I passed it and I would not have done it without the audio. Is there any particular topic that you know you are weak on? I ask this because somehow, the examiners know where we are weak and they just load the freaking tests with those questions and then give you a Sim on it. If you are weak in one area then live it, breath it and know it. I'm studying for FAR again and I know where I'm weak and the stupid move I made that got me a 73 on the last attempt. They won't get me again! Email me if you want to vent, scream, talk or whatever. kricket0513@gmail.com.

    7 days of studying and you got a 72? That's amazing! Even 3-4 weeks with a 72 is great in my opinion. I honestly think you just need to study a little longer and at least go through the material a couple of times. Are you doing an overall final review? I know my intensive final reviews are what helped me because a lot of the exam questions just require short-term memorization. What did your score report say?

    If you want another course, why don't you try a CRAM? I used the Yaeger FAR Cram during my studying and for my final review.

    Thanks Kricket! I really went in feeling super confident. I am really not sure what happened. I did weaker on every single MCQ section and comparable on Simulations. I think some of it was because I was pissed at the Prometric people for taking an hour to check me in and some of it was me being to cocky and some being I just had a bad test day. I really did feel super confident. I was making high 70s low 80s on all of my Practice Tests in Wiley. I am still not sure what happened but it doesn't matter. Just gotta do it again. Last time I went in I was really weak on Bonds/Leases/PV stuff but this time I really knew it. I can't really say there was a particular thing I was weak but my test show I was weak on everything. I just can't make sense of it so I won't. Just will start from scratch, I guess. BOO

    @apbandj – that was a typo, I actually studied for 4, just hit a higher key on my 10 key. I think I will just suck it up and spend the $97 on Jeff's Audio. I love my Ninja Notes so I bet I will love the Audio too.

    PS. THIS BLOWS!!

    Ok I started fresh last night. During the day I listened to my newly purchased Ninja Audio then took a practice test over a couple of the first sections in the Ninja Notes. Still pissed I am studying again but more of a vengence is sweet type of mad. Here we go!!

    Hey akb9874, how do you like the far ninja audio?

    Is it really comprehensive that it covers most of the far materials? Such seems a bit short at 3hrs.

    @WhereforeArt

    I haven't gotten that far in it but it is pretty much the ninja notes on audio with added examples. It is a good way to studying on a commute. I think of it like listening to the radio, you don't realize you know the song until you are at work and it is stuck in your head. I think that if I listen to it enough, I will start hearing Jeff's voice during my study sessions or test. I have only used it for a day so I don't feel I have enough to give a strong recommendation, but others have used it that I trust and swear by it.

    Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

    @akb9874 you scored weaker in every MC area and you still got a 72? I scored comparable in 2 but weaker in sims and got a 69. I hate this exam.

    AUD 6/24/11- 76
    BEC 11/23/11 - 79
    FAR 11/26/12 - 76
    REG 1/14/12 - 82

    I am studying for FAR too.

    Currently, I'm doing the lectures (highlighting etc.) then doing the questions. I did ok on F1, but am bombing F2.

    Should i be doing the lectures, then re write highlighted sections from video lecture, then do the questions?

    Hopefully this semi-thread hijack question will help the OP.

    AUD Pass
    REG Fail, Rematch TBA
    FAR 11/26 Certain I failed
    BEC ?

    A score of 72 is pretty close. Besides the obvious of reviewing the materials again, I recommend taking at least one quick break during the exam. Just get up, walk to the bathroom, throw some cold water in your face, hurry back, and resume the exam. When I took FAR recently, the two breaks I took cost me about 4 minutes each, but well worth it for me to just clear my head and stretch my legs.

    The above is based on my FAR exam, which had a mixture of calculation and theory questions, that were reasonable. That is to say, there are some people whose test experience included very heavy calculations taking up a lot of time. In such a case, my advise might not be as good.

    BEC: 84
    AUD: 89
    REG: 71, 86
    FAR: 80

    @xwing

    I know, I was so confused by that. The only thing I could think is that several of the MCQ sections were close to comparable and/or my sim was close to stronger.

    @jennysdad

    I usually take a quick break between the MCQ and Sims. That is when I usually start losing focus so I go to the restroom, splash some water on my face, drink some water and do a little stretching.

    Thanks everyone for the help and support.
