    A little background on me:

    1. graduated 08 with an accounting degree (never took aud, tax 2, cost accounting 2, and got a D in FAR 3)

    2. Started working as a financial analyst in the industry in 2008 after graduation (currently employed at same company).

    3. Received an MBA in 2011. An ACTUAL MBA, not this online crap.

    4. Made the painful decision to start start studying the CPA in Sep of 2012.

    5. Been studying non-stop, 20-30 hours a week since christmas 2012.

    6. Taking FAR first and have not taken a test yet.

My first FAR test will be FEB 23rd. I’ve been busting my ass studying for this thing, but I can’t seem to do better than 65 on comprehensive tests. I take them in sets of 30 after reviewing chapters (currently using Becker).

I don’t know what my problem is, but I can’t get out of the 60’s. Am I doomed to fail? DId anyone get 60’s on the MC and pass the exam? Did anyone get 60’s and fail? I have 11 days until test day and there is just so much damn information that this thing feels impossible. All I can do is just keep reviewing weak topics and do multiple choice non stop. If anyone has any suggestions, please send them my way.

The internet is also awesome because you can google things like “auto-da-fe”… what the auto-da-FU** is that?

Hey Jeff, I already bleeped that one out for ya.

No – It wasn't pleasantries … it was called “mitigating pending drama” … something they probably don't teach in most MBA programs 🙂

If drama is a big, juicy steak, then this thread is a pride of hungry lions. I may be Simba…my Mufasa is gone 🙁 but these days, I'm more of a docile house cat…(boss' orders)

I guess I just sympathize with the OP because sometimes people say things without having any idea of the implications to other people. You kinda have to consider the intent, and my opinion is that his intent was just to emphasize that he has a strong academic background.

I can't speak for anyone else but I do things wrong like that all the time. I was just talking to someone today about the GMAT and I said “I didn't study for it because this school only requires a 500”. Little did I know that a 500 was difficult for him. Oops, it's not like I'm calling him stupid, I'm just honest and oblivious.

This pet meatball of yours — it intrigues me…is it a metaphor? Or have you lost your marbles studying for this exam, cooked up a batch of meatballs, thrown them in a cage with some cider chips, and named them/it? Curiosity has overcome me.

    @Baseball

This is my AIM screen name from 5th grade if that gives you any indication of my maturation process.

@dirtrider – I have to admit that I'm jealous of Jeff too for running this website and making it big – I used to read up on CPANET.com but nobody seems to use that website anymore. During my college years, I was thinking about starting a CPA online community, just like this website (I'm sure alot of people had thought that).the difference is that..I didn't act on it, Jeff did, and he executed right.

@mypetmeatball- Ha! when I was in the 7th grade i read a magazine called “Dirt Rider”. AIM Screen name/username to everything since.

Jeff knocked this website out of the park, with the exception of the whole censorship thing. The internet is the place of free speech! But you run your show how you want it run. I agree @CPAismyonlywayout.

@MyPetMeatball — If it's any consolation, there's a throng of ex-girlfriends of mine who are still waiting for me to “mature”. Case-in-point, I was interviewing a process owner today and try as she might (and believe me, her face was contorted in a way that only intestinal discomfort could), she let out a small fart. Try as I might to stifle my laughter, I was unsuccessful; I had to excuse myself under the guise that I was having a “coughing” (laughing) attack. Needless to say, rapport was not built today. Totally worth it though, I've been in a fabulous mood.

Obviously the definition of “free speech” was also skipped in this superior MBA program. Too funny!

@Jeff – don't some online MBA programs teach Forum Decorum? 🙂

I think mypetmeatball nailed it: online degrees have a stigma with them. You can argue either way but I think that's what the elephant in this forum is. I am owner of neither a classroom MBA or an online MBA so I've got no horse in this race, just offering up my 2 cents.
