Does anyone feels that the never ending preparation of FAR is making them sick? I am feeling horrible. It just doesn’t ends. Unfortunately, I still have chapter 9 to go and I am already pissed off. In addition, I am not scoring well in my first attempt of MCQ’s. I just wanna get over with this devil. 🙁

I in the that boat with you for sure rahulcpa. I'm only through the FAR-5 lectures and will do those MC questions tonight. This is also my last section. I am so burned out and sick of studying it is a fight every night to just sit down to start studying. FAR is almost over (2 more weeks) yet seems like it is months away from being done.

The only thing worse than studying FAR is having to DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN.

I see that Becker book in the corner of my office: tattered, stained and barely held together with duct tape… talk about being nauseous.

I started studying for FAR using Becker the 2nd week of January with the intention of taking the exam the last week of February. I got to lecture 7 the first part of February, and I felt so overwhelmed by the amount of material. I decided not to take my test in February (I scheduled it April 1st) and take the time to go back and rewatch all of the lectures again. At this point, I have put about 230 hours into FAR and finally feel really good about it all….. but I am really tired of studying for this test, and I still get to look it over for two more weeks. 🙁 This is my first exam so I have no clue what to expect. Needless to say, I am nervous! Any pointers?

you did enough studying; now your challenge has changed from learning the material to staying sharp on the material…..I did this same mistake with Bec my first exam and almost failed……..I said almost failed…………I still passed……

keep working a cram style cover vast amounts of material with MCQ and SIMS you will be fine

know how to work the calculator

know what to expect as far as layout of exam……

time management……..use it when cramming do not ponder questions excessively at this point you need mock exams so do it like real thing…….Gliem gives you a mock one for free……..then harass you for a lil bit trying to get you to sign on to them but it was worth it b/c I got to practice a test with different material …..about 60% look same though as my review……..also cpareview for free is ok………but work simulated tests is crucial………watch Yaeger cram this weekend online version,……..

after you pass I want a personal thank you!

Jules — the same thing happened to me last year. There is a ton of material. FAR was my first exam, and I postponed it after 7 weeks of studying. I took some of the Becker progress tests, and didn't think I was ready. After pushing it into the next testing window (and taking a couple of weeks off to prevent burn-out), I ended up with an 86 (nice surprise). In looking back, I might have squeaked by with a 75 if I had taken it with the original test date, but I just wanted to make sure (i.e. that I passed FAR the first time).

I think you'll do fine with the amount of time you've invested. One word of advice: when you get to the communication section, if you don't know the subject matter, make sure you write a nice, formal business letter. In other words, get as many points as you can for format, spelling, and as much subject matter that you can muster up……

    Good luck!

Thank you both for the advice. I feel like the exam is taking over my life! It is all i think about. My hubby is studying for it too, so it is all we talk about. I will be so glad to have a life again at some point!
