I gave myself 2 months as well. Used Yaeger. Watched each lecture. Once I had watched all the lectures for a particular module, I went back through the Wiley text over the material they point out in the lectures and then did all the MCQs they said to do for that module. Then read the solutions for all the questions I did – right or wrong. After getting through all the videos and modules, I went back through and re-read the highlighted material and again answered only the assigned questions at the end of each module. Reading the solutions is key.

I had a preconceived notion that FAR would be impossible but when test day came, I actually found the questions to be much more basic than those on BEC or REG. Maybe I was more prepared. Either way, I think Yaeger does a fine job for FAR if you use it completely. And don't overlook Gov't and NFP just because they are the last modules.

    REG - 7/23/11 - 87
    BEC - 8/30/11 - 78
    FAR - 11/23/11 - 89
    AUD - 1/14/12 - 88

Sorry, I am just starting FAR and I don't know what is NFP.

I am hopping I can do FAR in 8 weeks as well. I can only put 20 hrs per week of study (work full time + kid), that is 160 hrs total.

I am afraid it would not be enough? I am so scared over what I am reading on this forum about FAR.

REG took me 3 attempts and I put about 300 hrs total between all these attempts. AUD, on the other hand, went smooth with pass from 1st attempt (120 hrs). Waiting on BEC score in a week.

    AUD Passed (78) expires 1/31/2013
    REG Passed (78) expires 4/30/2013
BEC Passed (75) was 39 weeks pregnant:))
    FAR 67,73, 1/27/2013

@Lady in Red, NFP is Not For Profit. The accounting for this is different from regular GAAP, so you definitely will have to set some time aside to master it as well as governmental accounting since they're not truly intuitive.

I think 8 weeks is definitely enough. That's about how much time I put in and I felt pretty prepared going in. As long as those hours are quality study hours, you should be fine!

Believe me, FAR is not impossible to pass. Just take it in chunks. There was someone on this forum that said that passing the CPA is like trying to eat an elephant, one bite at a time. So true. Keep that in mind as you study. 🙂

    FAR 88 (07/15/11)
    BEC 83 (08/31/11)
    AUD 81 (10/15/11)
    REG 83 (11/26/11)

    Kasia,

Thanks for the encouragement. I took a NFT accounting class over the summer …6 years ago while in college. I don't remember much but yes, it is very different.

I'm sure any study materials would suffice, but I would check out cpareviewforfree.com to gain extra insight about IFRS questions.

I also would allow a lot of time to study for this test. I think 8 weeks would be good. Consistency is key. Don't worry I wasn't good at intermediate accounting either and I passed first try!

    FAR - 7/25/11 - 79
    AUD - 11/29/11 - 93
    REG - 2/29/12 - 86
    BEC - 4-5/XX/12

I just passed REG and now i am going to fully concentrate on FARE!

I have YAEGER FARE study material. so…”.lecture + recommended questions from Cindy + cram” are enough???

or do you recommend more questions from other books??? Gleim? Wiley CD? I wanna finish in 2 months. don't know if possible because i wasn't good at intermediate in college.
