While we all wait for our scores to come out, I would like to ask for advice. I took FAR at the end of April and received a 70. I then studied for Auditing and that is the score I am waiting on. This past week and into Friday, I have been rewriting Ninja Notes and listening to Ninja Audio for FAR (This is the first time I have used these). After I get done with rewriting them, I will have this Saturday – the Next Saturday (Saturday’s are my days I can study all day), Sunday I can study about 3-4 hours and Monday-Friday I can study about 2 hours. I then have a conference and then a Family Vacation (I can probably read over Ninja Notes a little and listen to the audio, but I promised I wouldn’t spend the whole time studying. I then would have a few days left after I get back from vacation before the test. I plan on rewriting the Ninja Notes those few days before the test. My question I have for you guys is how I should approach the Saturday-Saturday that I can study material other than Ninja Notes. I have CPA excel just incase the questions arises…I was wondering if I should take a practive test Saturday and only study the parts I do bad on Sunday-Saturday, or not waste the time taking the practice test and start studying multiple choice questions like crazy Saturday-Saturday, as many as I can? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Each person's study needs will vary, but for last minute studying I would rather pound out tons of MCQ than take a practice test.

In my opinion, practice tests are mainly useful for getting a feel for the format of the exam (using the calculator, research tabs, different ways to enter solutions in sims, etc). Since you've already taken an exam, you know how to use the software.

In my opinion, practice tests are good for two things:

    1. Take one at the BEGINNING of your preparations for a section to get a feel for where you're strong, and where you need to put more effort/attention, and

    2. At the END of your preparations, right before your exam, mostly to check your time management, and hopefully to give you some encouragement with a good score.

In your case, with so little time to study and having already taken the test once before, I'd focus on MCQs and skip the practice test.
