FAR vs. Other sections

    Just curious –

FAR seems to be very heavy on computations.

I do better when I have to learn rules and information vs. doing computations.

How do the other sections compare to FAR in this area?

Are the other sections mostly remembering information rather than working problems and remembering formulas?

Or, all they all pretty equal in that department?

Just wondering what my future holds. Hoping FAR is the worst, and maybe it will get better from here.

    I can dream, can’t I?

    FAR - 86 - 2/27/14
    AUD - 75 - 5/29/14
    BEC - 80 - 8/31/14
    REG - 89 - 2/27/15
    Praise Jesus! I'm done!!

Then AUD will be your favorite section. That's mostly theory with very few calculations. The only calcs I can even think of are ratios.

BEC is pretty evenly split between calcs and theory. I'm only 2 modules into REG… the tax section so far is pretty evenly split, but I'm guessing Business Law will be more theory. FAR definitely has the most computations.

I am certainly not a fan of far computations either. Reg is not too bad with the calculations. AUD has none, and bec is like 50/50. Id put audit after far just to give yourself a break.

FAR is hands down the worst when it comes to computations. I've taken all the other tests besides FAR and based from the Becker review, I have SO many different ways of remembering how to calculate and journal entry all this stuff its overwhelming. Thankfully I do remember having to learn alot of this stuff in classes in college…I've been told by many, “FAR is a mile wide, but an inch deep”. I'm hoping this is true…cause some of these HW problems in Becker are huge!

    REG - 80 (4/19/12)
    BEC - 81 (5/31/12)
    FAR - 89 (8/27/12)
    AUD - 87 (11/12/12)
