I am sitting for FAR in November. I am using Beckers 2011 material to study. I only have 2011 material to study for all the other sections as well. Is this crazy?

I am using Roger/Wiley 2011 materials and am sitting for FAR in October.

There have been differences for 2012 that I've noticed but not to the extent where they have to re-write the book. We get PDF updates, and can see the most current textbook online.

There will be changes in 2013, and I'm definitely not going to use 2011 stuff then. For now, it's working for me… or at least I hope it does!! Anyone else have any thoughts/ advice?

I took FAR in May 2012 using 2011 materials and got a 72, which tells me the materials were fine, and I needed to fine-tune my weak areas better.

I used Becker 2011 FAR materials when I sat in August. I didn't pass and my software expired so I had to get the 2012 materials. I am over halfway through the videos and MC's and have noticed that there are some changes. Nothing major but changes nonetheless.

I used Becker 2011 software and sat for FAR in July. I got an 81; I didn't encounter anything on the exam that wasn't covered in the book. Just make sure you go to the Becker website and download all of the PDF updates to the 2011 material. Also, they have a software update for the Passmaster on the website that will update the MCQs to match any changes they make to the material.

The most substantial changes I remember were in F1: SFAC No. 1 & 2 were replaced by SFAC No. 8. I don't remember any other significant changes.

I'm not sure what changes are supposed to be made to the exams in the next few months, but I also only have 2011 material and I'm planning to use it for my next three exams. I'm hoping Becker rolls out updates as needed.

If you are concerned about changes, buy the Wiley 2012 book. It is $36 on Amazon. Be warned the format is vastly different from the 2011 version due to the chapters being fragmented compared to 2011. This was rather distracting.
