I’m taking FAR on Tuesday 4/2. Any test taking tips? What must I know? Any tips would be helpful.

    Thanks.

Don't overdo it reviewing and burn yourself out right before the Exam.

Personally, I'm also a believer in utilizing your breaks during the Exam. You might lose some minutes (and possibly annoy the people at Prometric) but giving your brain a quick break is far more worth it to me.

Ibi18 – we have almost the same schedule for FAR and AUD! I am trying to do REG and BEC by end of August though. I have been at this since September! I studied FAR for 6 months – lol!

    The FASB is a(n):

    A. Private sector body.

    B. Governmental unit.

    C. International organization.

    D. Group of accounting firms.

I hope there are 40 questions similar to this one 🙂

Getting a CPA – Yeah, I wanted to knock two sections out of the way in one window…I may end up taking REG earlier than expected though, it'll all depend on my work schedule.

    Good luck on Tuesday!

    FAR - 85
    AUD - 99
    REG - 85
    BEC - 10/4/13 (Waiting)

    Using Becker Self-Study

@lbi18 and Getting a CPA, we have similar schedules for FAR and AUD, and probably REG and BEC as well, except I want to wait for my FAR score before scheduling REG. And Getting a CPA, you have me beat lol, I have been at this for only 3 and a half months (started in December).

@ CPA_Romantic: Count me in too. I am also going to take FAR on 4/1 and AUD on 5/28 we have similar situations. Good luck for your upcoming FAR.

Anyone using wiley test bank here? I am scoring low 70s in the test bank. Still not have that much confidence 🙁 ughhhh

I am great in Pensions, Bonds, NFP, GOV, little about leases and so so on the other chapters.

Good luck to all CPA test takers.

@calCPA2013 Wow, 70s? That is really high compared to me (lowly 50 on a good day), how have you been studying for this? Btw good luck man, I think you have a lot better shot at passing than I do.

@calCPA2013… if you are legitimately scoring low 70's on Wiley (i.e. first time through, no checking to make sure your answers are correct before writing them down, etc.), I honestly believe that you're in pretty good shape. In my opinion, Wiley questions are generally more difficult than the questions on the actual exam.

By the way, I mention that “legitimate” part because I occasionally do just that… I'll check an answer every 20 or so MC questions before writing it down to make sure that I understand the concept correctly or whatever, so scoring 90 out of 100 MC for me might legitimately be 85%.

@ CPA_Romantic – In my perspective, If you are using wiley test bank, it can help to grasp many missed things from text. So, we can improvise our knowledge through doing MCQs like a monster. Not any tricks here. I am not that much confident in passing this time because of low 70s. I will update my exam experience tomorrow.

You have 5 golden days man. you can do this… Set a goal to finish revision in the mixed of tough and easy topics everyday.

@interFC1: I finished whole set of MCQs in wiley test bank twice. still in 70s thats what my major concern…

Thanks and Good luck for your upcoming exams.

Good luck Karma87. I read about the FAR exam somewhere in this forum which is “mile length with inch deep” thats it. Its really really true and doable.
