It’s 1:35AM local time and I have a trending 71 and average 60 in FAR. Not sure if I should be happy with myself or go sleep yet. I have the test in 3 days and have not tried all the SIMS yet, is why I am up so late. Anyways, hoping my work is going to be good enough for the actual FAR exam.

That doesn't sound like enough to me. I had done 5000 MCQ, trending 90%, over the last 500 questions I had gotten 85% and I got a 76 on the exam. Unless you know the JE inside and out then I'd push the test back.

    BEC: 85
    REG: 74, 78
    AUD: 86
    FAR: October?

I wish! I'm starting a job in January so I want to save all that time for a REG retake in early March or late February. There isn't a way I could still try to salvage this?

I think 500 MCQ a day is your best bet!!!

    BEC: 85
    REG: 74, 78
    AUD: 86
    FAR: October?

Not quite there yet, but you may not be as far away as you think. I used Roger and took 3 practice exams – don't remember my exact scores, but my average was around a 70 and my actual score was 80. I would caution you against doing MCQ so much that you neglect the SIMS. I would also say the quantity does not mean much if you aren't remembering the knowledge you are supposed to. I did not do every MCQ nor SIM because I wanted to make sure I was actually learning.

    BEC - 88 8/29/15
    REG - 82 11/14/15
    AUD - 83 1/8/16
    FAR - 80 2/29/16

Make sure you can make every answer into a journal entry. Some words of encouragement, i put together an excel schedule of ninja mcq trending vs actual test score. 44 people were trending a 63 or better, out of those 44, only two did not pass.

    @laxman06

Did you put average score into your schedule?

To be honest laxman I don't really know how to turn most mcq into a journal entry. I wrote down all the becker journal entries once and read over them in the book but that's it.

No average score, many posters did not really post it.

You cant make ALL questions into journal try, but say for bonds.

you would think, bonds issued at a premiums

    DR Cash $1,052,486
    Cr Bond Payable $1,000,000
    Cr Premium payable $52,486

    The for payments

    Cr Cash $90,000
    Dr Interest Expense $73,674
    Dr Amortization Premium $16,326

My biggest advice for FAR, have a very good understanding over governmental. I have a good spreadsheet for this if you want me to email you it.

Any advice for BEC? It my last test, Dec 9. What were your trending vs actual scores?

BEC NINJA score trending 82 [though more honestly it was closer to 80, and my total average score was 69]

Final real exam score: 77. I PASSED! If NINJA MCQ is a MMA Fighter, then the CPA Exam is a ninja that brings throwable stars to a fistfight! Perplexing…

Man, both are very challenging but somehow I bested BEC.

[ummm honestly study everything, don't assume you can just skip studying something]

yeah I will try to get govt accounting to a 75 or 80 too. Mcq doesn't really go over journal entries but the SIMS kind of do. How did you practice journal entries while doing MCQ at the same time?

It was probably real world experience helping a little?

I would just write out if cash was received, thats a debit to cash etc.

OK I guess I will rewrite or look over the book examples for journal entry scenarios. I'll start my first full time job in January so right now I just have my school experience on my side. Then REG round 2 next year! Gosh tax is hard on me, for some reason.

Wow the sample exam tripped me up a lot, esp in MCQ. Better read/practice more.
