    hmmm..it's hard to say bc you just never know. I know that they're introducing more IFRS intangibles stuff this window, so I would look into that as well as IFRS in general. Idk about you, but I've never liked error correction & business combos, which are highly likely to appear on the exam..

    Time management. Not kidding. You will need 1.5 hours or more on the sims. They aren't hard, just time consuming.

    I actually like business combo's CAR IN BIG has been very helpful. The intercompany eliminations is pretty annoying though. I will def. need to review intangibles.

    What do you think about Fixed assets? I hate that stuff. I see that you use Wiley as well, for some reason the Wiley test bank has a lot more questions for fixed assets as compared to Becker. Should I put any stock into that?

    I never did any MCQs related to Fixed Assets from Wiley's tb. I used Wiley only for those sections I was not feeling good about (mainly Gov and NFP and investments). I do remember Wiley having a lot of questions on Fixed Assets though. My advice-go over Becker's MCQs and study them until you feel comfortable.

    Hey, Whyme, I took FAR today. In terms of time managment, I knocked out all the easier 2-3 sentence questions in the testlet first & marked all the long or very mathy ones & went back to them later. That at least made me feel better because I knew if I ran short on time I'd already have a good bit of the testlet done.

    The Advanced Search & Search Within features on the Authoritative Literature tab in the SIMS do work. So, you can search for an exact phrase if you get stuck. However, its definitely better to know the codification structure because sometimes your exact phrase shows up a lot of places!

    Good luck!!

    @Wmalvino – Thanks for the tips! What study materials did you use, and did you feel they were adequate?

    Hey, Whyme, I used Wiley primarily & CPA Excel. Yes I'd say they're sufficient prep however there is a big gap between what is provided in your prep materials & what stays in your brain!

    Re: the TBS's I would just say to study the hardest ones in whatever materials you have. I actually did study the day before the exam & it didn't mess me up – just don't overdo it.

    Another good time management tool is to read the last sentence of the question first. Sometimes you really can answer the question just off that. Obviously you have to go back & read the beginning material after to make sure you didn't miss something important.

    I definitely found alot of the harder/mathy questions were more towards the beginning of the testlets. So I think that trick about marking the hard stuff and coming back to it later can really help mentally. You may get all freaked out if you get stuck on a bunch of hard ones at the beginning.

    That's just my 2 cents. Obviously I'm a newbie lol 🙂 Good good good luck!

    @EELCPA- Thanks!

    @Wmalvino- Doing the shorter questions first does sound like a good idea. Usually if I don't know what a question is asking the first read through I mark it and come back. Like you said if you get down the ones you know first, you wont be bogged down by the time constraint. Hopefully it goes well, I am going over all of the major topics today to make sure I can handle them, and then just reviewing the Wiley Sims. I plan to wake up tomorrow and knock out the govt & NFP MCQ's once more before I hit the road.

    Sorry, no advise here for I'll be taking this part for the 1st time in 2 weeks. Not looking forward to it. Nothing seems to stick and I'm very worry about the cash flow and hedging problems. But GOOD LUCK to you and let us know how it goes.
