FAR testlet difficulty

Is there anyone out there who passed FAR even though they felt like the 3rd testlet was not quite as hard as the 2nd? My experience with FAR last Friday was this:

Testlet 1: easier than I expected

    Testlet 2: pretty tough

Testlet 3: not quite as bad as testlet 2 but not quite as easy as testlet 1

I’m going crazy second-guessing myself after the fact because I’m worried that I did poorly enough on testlet 2 to get the easy testlet at the end. To top it off, the simulations were pretty tricky. I finished them all and understood enough to put reasonably intelligent answers in each of the tabs, but I don’t have a ton of confidence that I passed. Then again, I thought there was a chance I had failed audit, and I passed with a 96 so it’s pretty much impossible to tell how you did.

Anyways, if anyone out there had a similar experience to mine and still passed FAR, I’d love to hear from you!

Also, does anyone have an idea about how poorly you would have to do on a difficult testlet to get an easy one after that?

96 no worries. my 62 2x in a row is more worrisome.

I felt the exact same way but I thought my 3rd teslet was easier than the 1st. My simulations were a mixed bag: some were doable and others were from NOWHERE! I didn't finish all tabs but I did the WC on both.

I went through the second-guessing phase too. Only time will tell now.

Ok, here goes…I took my test on February 10th here in the great state of KS. I went in to the test center at peace with myself (I know that sounds weird), but through my pageant experience they always trained us for interview and if, right before interview, you had a peace within yourself, then you have prepared to your fullest ability and are confident. Blah blah blah. I am now like a dog who has been trained to use pageant concepts in everyday life. Anyways, I sat down, gave a little shout out to the Man above and told him I needed him to give me the strength, stamina, and endurance to get through the exam. BTW, I am a Yaeger Convert and love, love, love it.

First testlet: somewhat medium level difficulty (35 minutes)

Second testlet: never seemed that much harder to me, but there were questions were I was like “Oh I remember this because of Phil or Cindy” but if it weren't for them I would have thought it was extremely difficult (40 minutes)

Third testlet: about the same as the second (45 minutes)

Simulation #1: (70 minutes) Somewhat tricky – notice it took me forever and I was doing great with time management.

Simulation #2: (20 minutes) finished with one minute to spare and answered all tabs!

It seemed like some of my questions came from ACCT 101 and others were extremely difficult in the same testlet. It matters on the material you study and how many multiple choice questions you did to determine what the little tricks will be. I studied for over 250 hours and this was my second time taking it. I took the exam the first time in July and got a 60 with 50 minutes to spare! YIKES! I was just trying to read the FAR book using Bisk. I don't learn so well from just reading, I need someone to explain it to me and tell me what is more important than other stuff.

I don't really know how my test went. I had a lot less time left than I did last time I took it, and I felt much more prepared. I came out of there feeling like I gave it 110% and I couldn't have studied any harder or longer. So I guess we will see in 4 1/2 weeks just how I did. I am nervous, but its tax season, so I have lots to keep my mind busy. Here we go March 1 farmers! Will I be glad when that deadline is passed!!! You betcha!

I'm glad to know that there are others out there who had the same experience as me. It's really nice to know we're not in it alone. I was just kind of freaking out because I did not feel like the 3rd testlet was a monster, but to be honest, I didn't feel like that about any of them. I definitely noticed a change from testlet 1 to testlet 2, but just couldn't tell from testlet 2 to testlet 3 (I thought it was easier but not as easy as the 1st one).

I wish I didn't know about the adaptive questioning! I feel like I spend more time worrying about how hard my test was than I should.
