    Hi everyone,

    I have studied for FAR using Surgent CPA, my trending source is 88% atm. I’ve been doing NINJA questions recently and I’ve been scoring 50-60 range. I have gone back on topics I struggle with. But then I find myself thinking I have to study everything again. I would like to take FAR sometime this month, thanks.

    Once youve gone through the material/questions, what would you recommend?

    Mcq's. That's the only real way to know if you know. Others on other posts have said do the mcq's until you can't do any more, then do more mcq's.

    It begins with a 75

    I agree. My strategy so far (passed FAR and BEC on first attempts) has been to go through all the material once, and then take about 2 weeks for final review. In my review stage, I do MCQs about 20 at a time, and then I review them and address any problems I had and go back and look at struggle areas the MCQs brought to light. I think the key is doing MCQs in small enough doses that you can review what you got wrong while still remembering why you picked that answer. It's also important to take breaks, and doing small chunks of questions at a time will keep your motivation and attention span for longer. Good luck!

    I'd say bring your average and average trending from Ninja MCQs up to 70-75% range at least.

    I'd spend the vast majority of my time getting MCQ average up. It's the most efficient way to internalize the material. Once you do that, look at SIMs based on the Blueprint “Analysis” topics and ignore all other SIMs.

    Thank you everyone for the advice. Right now I am writing down the ninja notes and doing MCQS. I need to work on Sims too, I dread them so much urgh. lol

    @xgrape01 – I studied only using Surgent and I was trending at 83% before my test and scored an 83 on the actual exam. Just keep at it and you should be okay.

    Contrary to what the majority is saying here, I would suggest that you focus some of your attention with sims (especially if you're not that good at solving long problems). The sims that I had during my last exam were more or less the same difficulty with Becker, but what they will get you at is with the number of documents. Becker would just give two to three documents max in their sims, whereas I got a sim with eight documents worth of info.

    @lurker

    Considering the fact you got 98, I'm not surprised the software gave you an eight document sim. Just saying.

    You would think that but AFAIK the difficulty of the sims has no relation with how well you did in the previous teslets (MCQs). Anyway my point still stands, don't overlook the sims!

    I need to work on sims, so thanks! Surgent gives a good amount of docs so that should help
